My '14 C14C uses code 34534 to get into the service area. You can reset the spanner there. I've just done my machine and it worked.

From a post below Edit by GTM:
Toggle left thumb button to get to the "MENU" (see owner's manual if you don't know how)
Toggle to find "SERVICE" press toggle button inwards/center
TO ENTER THE CODE:
five dashes _ will come up on the screen
The FIRST digit will auto-scroll... 1, 2, press the toggle button when it hits 3
The display will switch to the SECOND dash_ and begin counting again
Press the toggle button as each successive dash_ scrolls through the number sequence
Once 34534 is entered you have access to the SERVICE MENU
Select the RESET COUPON and press the toggle button.

I have the answer!!!

I accept beers!

Kiwi Dave you rock! I selected the "reset coupon" menu option and it worked. No more spanner!

If you're ever in Michigan the beers are on me. Thanks!

What service area? Do you need some kind of special tool (computer) to do this? For the ignorant among us please be more explicit.

Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Wait until a spanner (wrench) appears in your dashboard suggesting a service is due. If you get the dealer to service your machine, no problem, he should reset the dash. If you do your own service, then you need this code to clear the spanner (especially if it annoys you).

No special tool or computer required.

Thanks Dave. I really appreciate this, however you have not yet gotten basic enough. I get it that there is a code to remove the spanner ( code 34534 ). Is there a method for me to enter this code in the display of the instrumentation, like I can change the traction control, etc?

I think it's the SERVICE option under MENU:
It is and it works like this:
toggle to the "MENU" and press the toggle button (left thumb)
look for "SERVICE" and toggle there and press toggle button
TO ENTER THE CODE:
five dashes _ will come up on the screen
the FIRST dash will show a 1 and then a 2 when it gets to 3 press the toggle button
The display will switch to the SECOND dash_ and begin counting again
Press the toggle button as each successive dash_ scrolls through the number sequence
once 34534 is entered you have access to the SERVICE MENU
toggle to the RESET COUPON and press the toggle button
NO MORE WRENCH

Thanks Touringman and thanks too to Kiwi Dave for coming up with this "magic" code number. I followed the provided instructions and I now have no wrench showing on the dash.

What I'm sure is when the the spanner will reappear. On the CARC bikes, it would show 6,000 miles/10,000 kM after the reset, but I suspect it is preprogrammed for odometer intervals on the Cali 1400.

Anybody know for sure?

On my Cali 1400 the spanner appeared at 10001, 20001,30001 and 40001 km irrespective of when it was reset. I have now reset it using the code you discovered (thank you!) at about 47 000 km and fully expect it to reappear at 50001.

Many Thanks Kiwi Dave.
Just for grins, how did you find the code ?
Trial and error?
Intercept the PADDS stream whilst being reset?
Lucky Lotto Number winner ?
Wes

Thanks for the service code ,kiwi dave !
Yesterday I reset the service icon, the recip work perfect.

Thank you all for the advice and service code! I reset mine last night and it was a snap! I reset the beast around 10,300 km/6,400 miles. This is a great thread! Drop by Rockwood anytime all and beers are on me!!

It will show up again 6000 miles after you reset it.
