Well, I got my V9 Bobber today, though not exactly what I ordered. I had told my dealer to get me a grey one, but the first one they got in was black so I took that instead. I had waffled back and forth on which color to get when I placed the order and only decided at the last minute anyway, and I think that the H-B C-Bow mounts I have on order will be slightly less visibly intrusive on the black.

So, I only had time to do a 45 mile ride today (plus pushing the bike out of the showroom and around in the garage a little while rearranging). Here are my initial observations:
1. Ergonomics are pretty good. I'm 6'2" tall and have a 33" inseam and I have enough legroom with the stock foot pegs. The free "extra legroom" foot pegs are coming but I doubt if I'll mount them. Caveat: I use the two-up seat as a long solo seat. No one larger than Twiggy's baby sister would be able to sit behind me. Riding in that position, the reach to the bars is comfy and my knees don't touch the heads or intake tube covers.
2. The seat is harder than my ex-wife's heart. After about 30 miles, I had numb-butt, but a quick pit stop and walk around and I was good to go again. I was just wearing jeans. Next time I'll try with my Moto-Skivvies, which I expect will be a slight improvement.
3. Power is adequate and smooth. I traded in a Stelvio and there's definite difference, but the V9 will still be plenty fast. I'm 66 years old and certainly not a speed demon, so I'm good. Transmission is great with smooth shifts, easy to finesse downshifts, easy to find neutral. My Excelsior-Henderson experience makes this a big deal to me.
4. Fit & finish is excellent EXCEPT that the handlebars are crooked. I don't know if it shows well in the 2nd picture above, but the right side handlebar riser is slightly rearward relative to the position of the left one, as though the top triple clamp isn't drilled correctly. I'm going to see if there's any slop in the holes that will allow me to align them correctly.
5. The mirror stalks are too short. I can't see past my own shoulders in my own lane. Bar-end mirrors are the next upgrade.
6. The grips are too small for my big hands. I'll either replace them or add Grab-On grip covers (which I had to do with my Triumph Trophy as well).
7. Pushing this V9 around in the garage, etc. is a joy compared to the taller and heavier Stelvio.
8. Handling is pretty good; certainly the bike's capabilities exceed mine and I got used to it pretty quickly on my regular curvy road route. I'm not a fan of Continental tires so when these wear out, I'll probably replace them with Avons or Dunlops, both of which I prefer.

All-in-all, I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to riding some more.

Congratulations Allan on your new Bobber , I like the black/yellow combination and when you have time do you want to post a picture with the other seat.
That 850T looks good in the line up, I am still having no luck tracking down a T or T3 nearer the West Coast.
Keep reporting as you get more miles on her, maybe that will be my next bike if I don,t track down an old round head.
