Im looking to replace the little plastic fork guards on my 2016 V7 ll Special with fork gators for that more classics Cafe look. Has anyone replaced these plastic guards, and do they come off readily.

Thanks
dts

I don't have fork gators on my bike. I kind of wish I did. : )
... but I don't want to mess with the installation.

BAAK offers some really cool looking handmade leather gators that have caught my eye.

Apologies if the pic didn’t make sense.
The point was how nice I think they would look on the bike - something like black BAAK handmade leather gators ~ and wondering if others agreed or had other options. ;)

... and I was kind of waiting to see if Todd would chime in with a locally sourced alternative.

Sometimes he has an iron in the fire for a local source, but at other times I’ve heard him say that it isn't worth it for him to source such items.

Really like the way your Racer is set up.
Do you find the bar end mirrors ever get in the way?
I like the look but was wondering.....

Thanks Chris. The boots I can't offer, but the side bags and seats I can of course.

The bar end mirrors are great! Really solid viewing. Good positioning. Just very nice to use.
I don't remember who exactly had them, but I saw them here on someone else's V7R (a guy in Long Beach) - although he had installed the all black version. I like the color matched option better.
The only thing they ever get in the way of is hanging my helmet on the handlebars (still easily done, but one just has to be a bit more careful so as not to accidentally adjust the mirror ; )

I looked at the BAAK gaiters and they look nice. More than I want to pay though. Since I have to take the front wheel off and the forks out it’s going to be a winter project. I’ll put on shorter shocks and lower the front at the same time.

Agree

Since I have to take the front wheel off and the forks out it’s...
...likely going to be a no go for me. I wish I would have done it when I had the wheel off a month ago, but that leads back to the first point that you made.
