So today i was cleaning my racer. I noticed that the left header exhaust clamp is not flash with the header as the right one is. It has a 3 mm gap . Can someone tell me what s causing this? And is it easy to adjust?

Thanks

This what s bothering me. I losened the clamp and turned a bit the two metal peices , the gap got closer but still not as it should be.

I removed the header. Cleaned everything, still there s the gap. I put a pair of thin washers between the clamp and the engine i think the problem is settled. At least there s no stress on the engine threads

In my opinion, the gap is good. That means the clamp is holding pressure on the pipe to seal it to the head. If the clamp is touching the head then the pipe could not be making good contact with the head.

Could it be that you need to loosen all the clamps and then start again, less the washers and see if with the entire exhaust system "loose" if you can get it all as it should be?
