How bad is spray/debris with Fender Eliminator Kit?

V7 is my first bike so please forgive me for asking: if I remove the part of the bike that blocks dirt and water from spraying on me... will dirt and water spray on me?

I only ride in nice weather so rain is only an issue if get caught in a random storm. So for general nice weather riding, is the amount of road dirt/grime that gets sprayed up with the fender eliminated tolerable? I like the look of an eliminated fender but if it is accompanied with a brown dirty stripe on my back it's probably a step backwards overall.

What about a 'mini' fender like this?

Does that little stub of a fender make any difference vs full delete? Also what about going with smaller fenders up front? I expect you'd have more dirt kicked up on your legs, engine, etc but how bad is it in the real world riding in nice weather?

Just looking for feedback and opinions from riders with more experience.

Thanks!

I have the other fender remove kit from BAAK. Like you I ride primarily in nice weather but get caught in storms frequently in Florida. I get wet but I would say not terrible but certainly it is not the same as having a fender. Had BAAK had that mini fender at the time I would have gotten that one as I like the mini fender look. I would imaging that must work somewhat better than the full delete like I did.

Thanks Bob, that is a beautiful Racer. I'm in PA mountains so sometimes I just can't avoid an unexpected deluge like you. I think getting more wet than with a fender in a storm is something I can deal with, I'm wet anyways. On a nice day when roads are dry do you notice dirt/grime kicking up on you, is the back of your jacket dirty, etc? If it makes my bike look good and is generally not an issue except for getting caught in a storm it's probably worth it for me.

I'm seriously considering the BAAK as it gives me mostly the same look but retains some protection. They also do a matching front mini fender but I have the same concerns. Got a pic of the front of your bike? Interested in seeing that fairing.

Normal daily dirt etc is not on my jacket. Really if I hit a big puddle at speed. You are correct, in a heavy rain it doesn't much matter as you are soaked anyway. I bought the BAAK because it came with signals, right connector and was super easy.

Another member, Kyle L gave me a guy in RI who built this for both of us.

Thank you for your thoughts. That fairing looks amazing, best I've seen on a V7. I probably won't start my mods until over winter but if the RI guy is willing to make another one of those I'd really appreciate his contact info.

He is very quick to respond and easy to work with. If you scroll down a few pages on his instagram you can see pics of the fairing being built. It is always good to know talented folks like this. Although not always cheap he will build anything you want to come up with for an idea.

Reading this post I got to thinking that Todd offered a kit. While at times I find it cryptive to find items by category I typed in fender and this kit came up. I know nothing about it (I have a Norge) but maybe give it a look. I think I'd like the tray under the seat.

Nice too with the under seat storage. What sold me on BAAK was it was complete with wiring especially so easy for a hack such as I. :)

That's the one that got me interested in a fender delete but wondering about the dirt. I'm with Bob on the complete wiring with BAAK, I need idiot proof. Likely going with the BAAK min setup, actually prefer the look to full delete and it should offer a little more protection from dirt.
