Evap canister here in the States. Check to see if it is open air into the manifold, as in drilled through. If so, get that plugged immediately(!).

I don't own one. The parts book shows a pipe for the EVAP sys going to a port there. OR it gets oil breather hose. I have no idea what they use in Israel as far as emissions. It should be capped if it's open to intake.

Todd beat me to it.

Thanks guys, well it seems its not drilled in.don't believe there's an EVAP canister here.
I thought it was the reason I get lousy millage, I get 15.5 KM per Liter, That's about 38 Miles per Gallon ,every time I park the bike it smells like gas, but no visible leak.
BTW that is my bike.

Something is not right, I am getting about 41 KM per liter on my Anniversario, so you should be at least close to that. And that is with the bike only having 400 KM on it so far. And it should not smell of gas when you park it.
I am new to this so hopefully someone else will chime in with more wisdom.
She's a real nice looking machine.

Mayakovski:
41 KM/liter translates to about 96.5 Miles per US Gallon (mpg): that is an unheard of fuel consumption number for any V7. Way way way too high. I suspect your fuel economy calculation is incorrect. You should be seeing about half that.

My average fuel economy measures to right around 47 mpg or about 20 KM/liter over 12 tanks of fuel; last tank was up to about 50.5 mpg (21.45 KM/l).

The OP's 15.5 KM/l translates to about 36.5 mpg. That's on the low side... my poorest economy to date was 41.4 mpg ...so I suspect there's something wrong with the OP's bike, but it's not radically off the mark.

If the vacuum tap on the intake plenum is not drilled through (which is what I expect for a bike delivered to Israel or anywhere else outside of the USA; the evaporative emissions canister is only fitted to USA distributed motorcycles), the fuel economy issue has nothing to do with it. I would go through the bike for a full service: check plugs, valve clearances, tire pressures, lubricants, etc. If you're running tire pressures that are too low and spending a lot of time in traffic or around town, or if the valve clearances are too large or too small, that can explain the poor fuel economy. Same goes for if a brake caliper is dragging or a wheel bearing is going bad, etc.

I am just going by what the on-board average fuel consumption and current fuel consumption display shows me. We'll see what the reality is when the first tank runs dry. :)

Thanks Godfrey,It was full serviced 500 ago, replacing plugs, air filter and oil,my valves do make tapping noise but I am unsure if that's normal on a Guzzi.

Damn. I'm getting the same mileage as you and have that smell as well. Keep me posted on what you figure out.

A certain amount of tapping noise from the valve gear is normal. Once fully warmed up, at idle it should be like a couple of knitting needles clicking against each other.

So check your tire pressures and see whether your front or rear brakes are dragging... :)

Oh. I never look at those things ... they're never accurate IMO. I record my odometer reading and how much fuel I put in every time I fill it up, then calculate the fuel economy from that data.

gotta love "Old School".

Hmmm, yes I'd call out the 41Km/l (or anything near it)too. Depending on how I ride I get something between 20.4 Km/l (48 MPG (US)) and 22.2 Km/l (52 MPG (US))

The carbon canister is (at least on the Series iii) on all countries' models now. Cheaper to build for the lowest common denominator - Ca of course :p. I know - I have one sitting on my shelf now.

Tappets should be as Godfrey has stated above. "Tappy tappets are happy tappets". When they make no noise at all, WORRY!

I'd be pluggin' that tit on the manifold anyhow if it were I - to be sure, to be sure. Can't see why yours goes nowhere when all of ours do.

first I live at 1000 feet above sea level and ride from there to 6000 but 2000 is the norm. my V7 III is getting 57 on 200 mile days where the highest recorded speed is 67-71 but the average moving speed for the day is 46 MPG. All riding in N. Georgia mountains mostly 3 & 4th gear with constant rowing of the gearbox. my rear original tire is BALD at 3400 miles. constant on off throttle and I sure don't baby it. FYI yesterday I did my 307 mile Cherahalla run and it said 60.5 for the day. the originally very inaccurate gauge on the bike is now within two tenth of an MPG it evidently took some time to learn and I check all figures manually. I also have a 2015 V7 in Az run the same way and it runs about 3 MPG less.
That said the V7 III needs the valves at 4 & 6 thousands not 6 & 8 and they are very hard to hear. You have a fuel / computer related problem. Possibly the moaning whale vent isn't venting but I suspect a sensor is acting up. I can run 80-85 down an interstate on the V7 with 3 bag and my fat 235#ass on it and 50 is the lowest I can make it get. Haul that thing to the dealer and hook it up to the computer.

More data points: Just arrived back from my first distance trip, 430 miles round trip. Tank 1: 52 mpg (against very heavy headwinds). Tank 2: 55.6 mpg.
