I have a set of slim LED lights that I wish to add beside my plate on my V85 TT

I have managed to get the left & right signals working & I can get the Running lights to work, but I can't seem to get the Brake lights to work. The lights I am using came with a standard 4 wire flat plug. I have used Posi-Taps to tap into the power. I can get either running lights or brake lights, but if I try to connect both, the brake lights turn OFF the running lights & I still don't have a brake light. Can anyone help point me in the correct direction

Blue == Left Signal

Red == Right Signal

Yellow == Hot/running lights

Yellow/Black == Hot/plate light

yellow/green == hot brake

Light Blue == ground

I know that the brake wire shows constant current until the brake is applied. Then it shows no power. I’m not knowledgeable enough to explain how this works. I hope someone else can explain how to wire an auxiliary brake light into this kind of circuit.

If you want the same bulb to work with 2 different signals you may need a resistor.

Maybe I should reword my post, when I hit the brake switch the running light goes out but the brake light doesn't work either

On my V7 I fitted aftermarket lights, just swap them around till it works properly, will only take a couple of minutes.

These are not replacing the OEM lights; they are in addition to the OEM lights

Note the 2nd row of lights for the signals

When you say the brake wire has a constant current, i think you mean a constant voltage (12V). It goes to zero volts because the brake has applied an earth to one side of the lamp when operated and your measuring point is dragged down to earth.

Yes, Kevin. You are correct. I'm not knowledgeable about correct terminiology. My test light shines when I check for 12 volts on the brake wire before the brake is applied. My test light goes off when the brakes are applied. The Admore light bar I just installed responds exactly the same way. Brake light is on until brake is applied. Then brake light goes off.
