I own a 2014 California 1400 Custom. It is the silver (grey?) color and is fitted out as a Touring model. That is, it has the touring windshield, MG hard bags, MG 50L top box, MG fog lights, "roll" bars, heated grips, etc. It gets to be a long list if I include every thing added to make a fully optioned touring model, which it now is.

My question is.....

Do I attempt to sell it as it is?

or

Do I strip it back to the "Custom" configuration and sell the many accessories on their own?

Thanks for your comments.

I would try and sell it as. Stripping the bits off might not leave it like original and reduce the amount you are seeking. Include them, and adjust the asking price accordingly.

I had the same thoughts. KBB motorcycle values the CUSTOM and TOURING models to within about $165USD to one another. Not much of a difference.

Not really a fair comparison. The Touring version comes with panniers, the Custom does not. I ended up fitting C-Box mounts on my Customs, to allow a variety of bags to fit. Hepco & Becker C-Bow Nevada bags fit straight on, I also have Hepco & Becker adaptor plates to allow a range of Givi panniers. Any combination will add up to a much greater amount than $165.

Dunno where KBB get their numbers from. The original buy price between the two models was more like $2000.
