V7-850 Mods Thread

Hi there,
I have a V7III Stone Night Pack in Bronzo Levigato. I'm going to upgrade to a V7 850 and would like to know if the gas tank and mudguard from my V7III could be transferred to the V7 850. I love this color! Thanks.

So what color was the 850 before the tank swap - Blue ?
So is your V7 in the shop with an 850 logo’ed tank ??

It was black, so my former V7III is now for sale at the dealer with a black tank and a black mudguard that has the centenario sticker (1921-2021) on it. :)

To anyone browsing this thread and wondering about this, the answer is yes! I traded my V7III against a V7 850 and the dealer swapped the tank + mudguard. Love the result!

I can’t see the image there for some reason.. is it the rear mudguard you changed?

I've decided to get a v7 850 sometime next year for me and the wife. I'm more of a Trail guy myself but wanted to pick something that my wife would be comfortable riding too (would be her 1st "big" bike, she rode a 125cc for a couple of years). the V7 isn't available to test ride (yaaay Morocco), but i'll take the v85TT for a spin just to get a feel for the engine. I have a couple of questions regarding the mods:

1) Anyone already tested these handlebar risers ? sw-motech.com/en/bike/Moto-Guzzi/V74Stone/2021/KZ/products/ergonomics/handlebar/bar+back/4052572056448.htm I sat on the bike and it felt good (i'm 190cm), the knees aren't too bent, my reach for the handlebar was kinda good but i think it would be perfect with these risers.

2) Does the ECU flash void the warranty? I'll probably get some Agostini's down the line, and would love to get the most out of the bike's performance (i.e best performance out of 1st and 2nd gear and low RPM behavior in general, main use of the bike is gonna be around the city).

3) I would love to get the Centenario edition, but it'll probably be gone by the time i'm ready to make a purchase. The seat color is what i love about it the most, and i wonder if i can find something aftermarket, or if Moto Guzzi are going to sell them separetely.

I'm not sure about where you live, but here in the US there are legal protections for consumers (Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act) that says modifications cannot void the warranty. However, a warranty claim can be denied if it is found that your modification was a cause of the failure. In other words, if you flash the ECU and later have a gearbox failure that should be covered by warranty, then it must be because flashing the ECU has no bearing on the operation of the gearbox. Again, that's in the US law... the manufacturer or other jurisdictions may have different opinions of this.

I wouldn't be surprised if new-old-stock Centenarios continue to be available at dealers for a while, but I wouldn't guarantee it. Guzzi has a bit of a track record of special editions lingering around in dealer stock for a while. Its a gamble. As for the seat, yes... spare parts Centenario saddles should be available from dealers.

Thank you for your reply! I'm living in Morocco, North Africa. The dealer is actually very small scale (they've only got v7s and V85TTs), so i wasn't even sure if the dealer rep would know what i'm talking about. I would also have to purchase the ECU flashing tablet since there is no specialized Guzzi garage where i live (it's mainly GS, HD and Kawasakis flavor in North Africa). They currently have only 1 Centenario currently, and i'm not sure it'll last until next year. But pairing that sweet sweet saddle with the AZUR GHIACCIO color would do the trick for me. https://www.motoguzzi.com/en_EN/accessories/vehicle-accessories/saddles/premium-saddle-2s000922/ found this after a bit of research, not sure if it fits the v7 850 thought.

on my V7i I just put an angle grinder to the passenger footpeg/exhaust bracket, came out quite well IMO, but not everyone wants to do permanent mods

V7 pegs

Does anyone know if Cylinder Head Covers from a V7 iii will be compatible with the v7 850 ?

Also of interest, would mivv ghibli be compatible with a v7 850 ? I'm emailing Mivv but I usually don't expect much back from manufacturers. [update: they did get back, they can't confirm compatibility at this time unfortunately. Apologies, link removed.]

Thanks for the help.

Sean.

Yes on the valve covers. You can always compare part #s.
No hyperlinks to competing products here, our offerings on the Store link above, available now.

I am looking for new rear sets compatible with the V7 850? Any options available?

I was looking at Sato's rear sets for the V7 750
They moves the pegs 6" back and up 1 1/4" . But it is not compatible with the new model. The rep I talked to has no idea when they will have them available for the new bike.

Hey GTM, I'm curious if there are any plans for a big bore kit for the new V7 850 this upcoming year? I'd be curious as to what the numbers it could potentially put up with a bore upgrade and GTM exhaust.
