Hello everyone. Not only am the owner of a new 2023 Moto Guzzi v7 Special, ( in a georgous deep navy blue ) but I am also new to any type of forum anywhere on the interwebs. So I'll probably keep my head down and try not to screw up. That said, I've been riding 50 years and have owned most all of the Japs plus a 1963 R60 BMW that I would get serviced at Ghost Motorcycles, Port Washington NY. The owner, Sal DeFeo (R.I.P.) always tried to interest me in the Italians they sold there. Ducati, Moto Guzzi, and Moto Morini if memory serves. I always loved the sound and look of the Guzzi motor and was charmed by the rocking to the right when the throttle was blipped, just like my Beemer. But I moved on to my first brand new bike, a 1978 KZ 650 Kawasaki that cost $1800.00 with payments of $63 a month. Still I stayed intrigued with Guzzis and fondly assosiated them with the fellow on an Eldorado who stopped to help when the BMW broke down on the I10 when I was living in Houston. He went into his saddle bag and produced a 30 ft 30amp power cord which he used to tow me I don't remember how many miles to my house. A Guzzi towing a BMW on the I10. You can't make this stuff up. Any how I'm loving my v7 Special and am very pleased to join the clan. Guzzi people, as I'm getting to know, are a dedicated bunch and are great at sharing their wisdom and experience. Ciao.
