T3 850 piston pin clips alternatives?

Just to continue this discussion , the charging output from my 2018 Eldorado was very low , 13.6 v max . The dealer agreed to get me a replacement alternator, pretty big job ( I arranged to replace it myself and they could charge Guzzi for the labour) good deal all around . A little over a...

T3 850 piston pin clips alternatives?

Gentlemen, stop making excuses for what this , I've spent 43 years in the motorcycle industry. This enormous part 1/2" long by 1/4" deep and an 1/8" wide and over 3 weeks to arrive is not feeding many mouths ! It's the reason so many run from dealerships shortly after purchase, isn't that the...

T3 850 piston pin clips alternatives?

I kinda know of this sense about being taken advantage of financially , just ordered a crank key (front sprocket, chain drive) and was charged $11.00 and tax was added to that ! A simple half moon key , sorry but this is simple thievery. It was on an 1100 Jackal . Peter

    81 Lemans

I'd start by changing the rear end oil and checking it for any debris (or being very dark, unless it has one of the dark Motul oils) . Being warm doesn't sound out of the ordinary , Hot however demands further inspection . Peter

Found in oil pan - mystery

I remember that replacing the alternator was a significant job and if I'm correct the cam chain is under another cover (under the alternator cover). Others that may have done the job might pipe in but I'm pretty sure it's no small afternoon job. Peter

    V7 850 2022 already rusting

FWIW , on my 2018 Eldorado, the entire charging system is made in China , and if you want to see how low one can set the bar , check out the handlebar switches under their housings ! But , I really enjoyed that bike . (ps: I traded it in on a Triumph T120 :) ) Peter

Rita Amplifier and Coil location on 79 Cali T3

It worked amazingly well on my Le Mans 2 for about 4 or 5 years and one day stopped ( typical of electronics, not too much warning ) . If I didn't enjoy playing around with points so much , I'd consider the Rita , because it got rid of the entire mechanical advance mechanism and gave a near...

    Cracked Cal 14 Exhaust Parts

Don't be afraid to loosen the entire exhaust system and reposition to reduce any additional loading on the entire system . Another reason for this is the frequent observation that the rear brake line is often very close to the exhaust pipe with the consequences being a softening of the rear...

    California 1400 rear brake seized

I too saw this on my Eldorado after I'd done some repositioning of Rear brake light switch and peg assembly . Corrected and the light went out. Peter

    California 1400 rear brake seized

If it's the same as the 2018 Eldorado I owned , the rear brake line (close to the rear master cylinder) was barely 1/4" from the exhaust header . I loosened the entire exhaust system and moved it until I was able to get the line an inch or more away from the header . The rear brake pedal stayed...

Marzocchi Forks leaking even after new oil seal

Most fork seals have the sealing lips designed to be installed with a specific face of the seal facing either up or down , incorrect and they become very ineffective. Someone else here may be able to post a picture that illustrates my point . Peter
