Never gave much attention to japanese bikes for the same reasons you stated. Also, hate the image of the associated stereotype drivers that rev their 4 cilinder engines like mad. But, there is something about this particular model that attracts me. The finish is good, the sound is deeper with a...
Yes, all the problems combined with poor, very poor customer service made me sell the bike. For sure will not put my feet ever again in that dealership.
The new bike is a 2022 kawasaki z900rs.
Just a final follow up: Pinging did not stop. Hot weather = pinging. The final drop was when the dealer revogue warranty on electric issues since I replaced the bulbs to LED. (Also had a burned stator).
So, it is a gorgeous bike, but in my case, with many problems. Had to let it go. So... New...
At least I got the less common problem I guess... 2 days ago, arrived from an afternoon ride, and checked if everything was ok, since it was a bit hot, had some pinging... The usual.
Battery at 12.0 V. Hmmm That doesn't sound right... Turned on the engine, 12.1 V. Nope, not right at all. Left...
By reading the suggestions on this forum about the continental RA3, I decided to try them also. Ok, my pirelli sport demons were shot at 10000 km, but, what a difference. Way more comfortable ride, even with higher tire pressures, the tires dont follow the crevices (road snakes?), and the bike...
I agree on the better rear suspension and that the blue is very nice.
But I did not find the cluch lighter than the V7 III, felt the same to me. And I found the gearbox a bit different, more clunky and easier to find neutral. Also, I was expecting a bit more acceleration, by looking at the...
Got to test drive a v7 2021 while my V7 III was being serviced for the 10k km.
Things I liked about the new V7:
Rear suspension is much more comfortable with more initial travel. Especially on coble stone roads, very noticeable.
It is much easier to find neutral. There is a more defined...
Yesterday went by the dealer to schedule the 10k km maintenance and to see in loco the new v7 2021. They only had the special in blue (the one I like the most from the current lineup). The test drive, a stone, was with a magazine reporter, so I couldnt test it.
He said that the power and torque...
" brand new rider footpeg support are used"
By looking to the pictures, I cannot find the differences between the V7 III and the 21 model... Does anyone sees them?
I wonder if the seat/footpeg distance remains at least the same. A couple more cms wouldn't hurt.
I wonder if they solved the enging knocking/pinging issues with this new/revised engine. But I guess not, since there are some reports of this happening on the V85TT also...
Curious about the gearbox improvements on the new V7. Sometimes it is not easy to find neutral in the V7 III. Thinking about trading my V7 III carbon for the new special. Lets see.
Just changed the final drive oil on my V7 III with 8k km and 11 months. Manual says to change it at 20k km, which I suspect is a bit too long, and I like to keep my vehicles tip-top.
I found very very small metal particles and a considerable amount of sludge on the magnet drain bolt, which I...
Maybe the euro5 is one of the reasons behind this engine upgrade on the V7...? This also means an annual tax increases from 58€ to 129€ here.
Wonder if the prices remain roughly the same, around 8k for the stone and 10k for the special (€).
Have to say, that special looks very nice.
Bought a 7 III 7 months and 6000 km ago. Final drive leak, engine pinging, replaced cylinder and piston... Actually thinking on trading for a z900rs since I don't like the arrogance of bmw and triumph dealers around here.
