The Nuvi 500/550 is the only model in that line that is waterproof. I have had mine for two years now and have ridden through some very heavy rainstorms with it. No problems.

I am glad you got it sorted out, David! Those electrical gremlins can be vexing!
By the way, I can't seem to update my signature block. The '09 Stelvio in my sig is no longer mine - it was the subject of this thread.
Cheers,
Bruce
Ninja, try it with the bike in neutral but with the engine running. I have never tried activating my grips with the engine turned off. Also, don't expect blistering heat from the factory heated grips. They will become lukewarm, but that is about the best you can expect.
Bruce
This may sound dumb, but are you sure your Stelvio is actually equipped with heated grips? They were a factory option on older Stelvios, so even if you had the dash display, it doesn't necessarily mean your bike is so equipped. You should be able to see the wires running from the grips if you do...

Re: Stelvio out and about pics here...

Thanks for sharing,
Bruce

He has a Givi V46 top box, with a Givi rack specifically designed for this unit. I have the same setup on my Stelvio. It is very handy indeed.

For better or worse, we have been on the metric system here for many years, although I still think in terms of inches, pounds and miles per hour. :D
Bruce
Yes, litres per 100 km. is how metric consumption is measured. Since mine is a Canadian market Stelvio, that is how it was set up when I received it, so I have never had to mess around with changing it. I am guessing that when you get into the menu, there is an option to do so in settings.

At one time, Ducati had such a program, but I have not heard of it being done for the last number of years. You're right. It would be a great idea. I have to think there must be some logistical and administrative problems which prevent it from happening.

I have never owned a Strom, but have had the opportunity to ride borrowed bikes (both 650 and 1000 CC versions) fairly extensively. I liked the V-Strom. I found it (especially the larger version) powerful and nice handling, all-in-all a very competent motorcycle. The difference between the Strom...
