Thanks again for all the follow-ups, but as mentioned a bit earlier I'm going to suffer through with the supply delays :) . The Peterbuilt chopper with its new to me 1100cc Jackal is running great , and it'll give me something to do next winter , and I need projects ! Peter

I kinda know of this sense about being taken advantage of financially , just ordered a crank key (front sprocket, chain drive) and was charged $11.00 and tax was added to that ! A simple half moon key , sorry but this is simple thievery. It was on an 1100 Jackal . Peter
I'd start by changing the rear end oil and checking it for any debris (or being very dark,unless it has one of the dark Motul oils) .
Being warm doesn't sound out of the ordinary , Hot however demands further inspection . Peter
I remember that replacing the alternator was a significant job and if I'm correct the cam chain is under another cover (under the alternator cover). Others that may have done the job might pipe in but I'm pretty sure it's no small afternoon job. Peter
FWIW , on my 2018 Eldorado, the entire charging system is made in China , and if you want to see how low one can set the bar , check out the handlebar switches under their housings ! But , I really enjoyed that bike . (ps: I traded it in on a Triumph T120 :) ) Peter

Don't be afraid to loosen the entire exhaust system and reposition to reduce any additional loading on the entire
system . Another reason for this is the frequent observation that the rear brake line is often very close to the exhaust
pipe with the consequences being a softening of the rear...
If it's the same as the 2018 Eldorado I owned , the rear brake line (close to the rear master cylinder) was barely 1/4" from the exhaust
header . I loosened the entire exhaust system and moved it until I was able to get the line an inch or more away from the header . The rear brake pedal stayed...
