Just changed mine out too. The pump assembly went back in easier than it came out. After 2 years, my stock filter had swollen plastic but it was still solid, and I couldn't physically separate the two pieces. Who knows, but I'll feel better with the all metal piece.
Anyone know what type (resistance, etc.) of plug wires are used on the V7's?
The right wire is black with a sheath cover, and the left is grey. Are they different?

Agree, don't go that big. Both Givi and HB have "Universal" mounting plates that bolt down onto a rack. I've had both brands on two different bikes/racks, and they work great.
2014 V7 Special. Trying to figure out if I have Marzocchi forks. I was looking for the stamped "M" on the inside of the fork, but can't find where. There is some type of character that is raised, but can't make it out. Did all the Specials get Marzocchis?

I had some oil under my air filter as well. Keep the level mid way between the marks on the dip stick. Don't over fill. With Todd's sump spacer he recommends 2.5 liters for this very reason.
Where did you buy the bike? Sounds like the cable is wrong, or you have it installed incorrectly. Can you post pics of the cable at the handlebar adjuster? Did you mess with the adjuster at the arm on the tranny?
BTW, join our NJ Forum. Several of us have V7's, and we meet somewhere...
Congrats, and welcome to the club.
I disagree about the stock exhaust. Sounds horrible.
First service includes a head re-torque. One time only. Did you do that?
