Yes I did and it seems better, actually haven't had that sound with 98E fuel. But that is not a 100% sure measurement because I can't control the temperatures and traffic jams, it may just be that I have not had as much heat since switching fuels (or that I have not lugged it enough).
Nope...
Finally found a video of someone riding the V7 III, capturing the exact same momentary metallic noise my V9 makes. Have a looksie and tell me what you make of it:
That was the very first thing I thought about when I heard about the updated position. They would be exactly where my planted feet pass by right now but riding ergonomics are more important I guess.
The wrong peg position does not enable me to hold myself onto the bike with knees when tight...
Can someone, anyone, with access to the latest spares catalog let me know if/when the 2017 V9 foot pegs become available? And the price of course. Thanks!
Background: would like to get the pegs swapped (either by ordering the kit or spares as there seem to be those two separate routes) but...
Yes I do live in the EU. What you say is very interesting, but can you help me with a relevant paragraph and title of the law? A quick research led me to my state's local information materials and they don't seem to highlight the "only one chance" aspect. It reads very vague: providing a fix is...
My leak checking back in, the dealer fix lasted for a week. Wheel all oily today again, calling in on Monday to schedule another fix. So much about having a carefree new bike with a warranty and everything. Apparently, warranty doesn't do nothing against not being able to actually use the damn...
Nope, your sensor is not different from others, this is exactly where it would light up, some 9 liters after a normal fill up, 170 to 190km depending on riding conditions and weather.
People fill up their bikes differently though. When you sit on it and hold it upright, you can really fill it...
Well it is not doing it steadily, only for a moment in the middle of acceleration so even if I don't change gear, it just crosses over to higher RPMs in a second and stops. Anyway, avoiding using the torque or a low-revving V-twin cannot be the real solution, for now I am hoping that the...
I think I got detonation on my V9 as the weather changed to warm a few days ago. When sitting in stop and go traffic and the engine gets real hot, an ugly metallic noise that sounds like detonation results under heavy load. In EU, we have 95 and 98 octane fuels, which are roughly equal to your...
Ran a little test on my 2016 V9 yesterday. From fill to fill 271km (168 miles), that included riding about 50km (31 miles) with the fuel light on. Diligently measured and calculated fuel economy was 4.35l/100km (54mpg). This was B-road riding in fine weather around the 90km/h (55mph) mark, not...
So it was fixed under warranty as expected. From what I heard, they refitted everything with new seals. Allegedly there is a sharp edge somewhere on a shaft that severed a ring seal during assembly, so there is a standard procedure - grind down the sharp spot and refit with new seals. Service...
What do you think about that? The idle is fine and acceleration is fine, no abruptness or jerking, but it is nearly impossible to hold a steady higher-than-idle RPM with the throttle. It's not about sensitivity, the speed just does not depend on the throttle position. You open it a little to get...
Dunno about where to buy them in the US & A, I'm over here in the old world but even RevZilla has them (revzilla.com/motorcycle/oxford-bar-end-mirrors). I think the hardest part of the installation is to move the left hand grip because you'll actually have to peel the rubber off the bar. You can...
You clamp to the bare metal handlebar. Currently your grips take up all the space right to the very end of the bar and meet up with the bar end weights. You need to move your grips and controls inward so that you get some space between the outer end of the grip and the bar end weight and there...
The sick thing about it all is that they are not doing a callback or including rear end rebuild in pre-delivery tasklist. They have us all go through a breakdown and towing, spoiling vacations and weekends, making people ride with oiled rear tire, etc. Small technical issue but major customer...
Just my 2 cents. There are things like these Oxford bar end mirrors bdlamotorbikes.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Oxford-Motorcycle-Bar-End-Mirrors-Black.jpg
Now they look like they need a hallow bar, but actually you can remove the plug and you are left with a regular clamp that fits the...
Bravo guys, my leak arrived today at 6000 km on the odometer, some 2000km into the second season. So my bike is a late bloomer, others sold last summer over here were all in for service right away but mine kept oil in up to this point. I'll let you know of the outcome and all the details as they...
Does anyone have details on this? Are these parts easily interchangeable or does it involve modifications like cutting and welding? Plus if anyone has ideas about where to best get the parts and what are the costs, in EU, that is. Thanks!
PS. I already know some custom builders have done it, I...
