Hi. After an oil pump failure over a year ago,Its time to reassemble. My question is. Which way are the Rods installed on the crank. I have misplaced the dissasembly notes on this. Three manuals give me Three ways to fit. Has anyone got one apart at the moment. ??
I apreciate any inputs
Cheers
My CARC was leaking from new. The dowells which position both halves were not aligned when the cases were (bashed) together causing a figure 8 hole and a small burr. A file and a reseal and 130.000k later stil no problems
I have a late 06 Norge 12 and a friend here has one also, two chassis numbers away fro mine. Both have had pump failures. Aus importer wouldnt even think about doing a warranty.
Symptoms were red light on cold start up. No noise. No ceizures. No rear rod bearing wear which seems to be the first...
I noticed in 07 the modified head bolt torques for the 2valve norges and brevas. The upper and lower BOLTS are now 15Nm then 90 degrees. NOT 15nM AND 90 + 90
The HEAD nuts are 15 Nm then 90+ 90 degrees.
The manual still available from here tells the story that my manual I coppied from a...
Oh dear what a drama.
I think you should start by getting one cylinder to TDC and pulling the rocker pins and check for wear.
Then the obv would be to check the cam followers after taking one cylinder off.. That would show if there is cam damage
Thinking the cam would show oil overheating...
I had a V7 classic recently which had the clutch arm lever pivot pin dry and tight. This stopped the clutch releasing completly and the thrust bearing seized and also the push rod tip overheated.
Heat the arm end and tap with a specially made long punch and remove eventually, using some spray...
Hi. I wonder if anybody has a test report on these Fournales units fitted to a Norge 12 please?
I had some on a Cali Special sport and on an SPNT and found no problems.
Thanks
My Norge at 100,000 Ks has no trouble at all with front or rear brakes. A friend who has a norge, two chassis numbers from mine, has had two rear master cylinders and about 6 front rotors. He currently has only one operating at the front. His bike has about 95k kms.
My thoughts here is if the pressure difference can be felt by hand, the bike would be running absolutly shit and you would be worried more on that aspect than the engine pipe colour.
Im not sure if they are chrome or stainless? but after a period they will match up in apperance.
I understand the...
The "dimple" also positions the plate correctly so the holes for clutch spring retaining line up with the flywheel spring retaining holes, if you get me.
Ok. I'll play your game.
Where are. What are SMMs
Maybe its a bit like our great ocean road a few years ago.
Or tassies west coast Lyell Highway etc ?
Be safe
There can always be a faulkt even with the best of anything including Yuasa but they are the best around. I have replaced hundreds of batterys with this brand.
Please check that the system is not overcharging causing heat and excessive prerssure build up.
What bike is this?
3I use propane cos its safe to use..
It dosent make ignitable fumes when applied to a hot motor but yes, you can use anything in a spray can as suggested. Not petrol but (Gas)
I have come across whistling and leaking inlet manifolds before and I find the affected area by applying a small jet of propane from a bottle via a1/16 th ID brass tubing on a hose, to the gasket and sealing areas, injector o rings etc.
If a leak is detected the engine will either stall or idle...
