Hi, has anyone had any adjustments done to their gear change linkage system? I'm at 60,000 k and having trouble finding N and a bit stiff between some gears? Thanks
I had mine replaced at 52000k by Guzzi mechanic. $500.00 NZ, no one in NZ had done one on a1400 so was experimental, took them longer than they expected. The belt that came out looked as good as the new one that went in. Gave me piece of mind on South Island trip, so after traveling 800 k to...
Thanks for the reply, I agree why would you take the chance, well, I'm at 52000 and my mechanic is fixing aeroplanes in Palma and it looks like I will put another 2-3000k on it before it can be done, I change oils and filter but everything else is done by the mech. Thanks again.
Don't know about sidewall profiles, I changed both some time ago, at the same time, then took of to Whangamonoma via the Wiremu Rd couldn't believe the difference the change made, way quicker transitioning, never gone back. Front Michelin PR4 GT 120/70/ZR18 Rear Avon Av72 180/70 R16...
Rain we have, I'm in Taranaki, I have Michelin Pilot Road 4 120 on the front, Avon 180 on the rear. I would have full Michelin PR4 set on but they don't do the 16 thing, but I am happy with the combo, don't really need to slow down in wet, have had slips on the shiny bits but nothing unexpected...
I HAVE BEEN RUNNING 120 / PILOT ROAD 4 ON THE FRONT WITH AVON 180 ON THE BACK, GREAT COMBO AND GETTING 8000 PLUS K'S FROM REAR HERE IN NZ. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THE COMMANDER11' S BUT NEVER DONE IT, SHOULD BE GOOD AND INTERESTED IN RESULTS, NEW PILOT ROAD 5 GT 120 LOOKS LIKE THE ONE TO GO FOR NOW...
Can you tell me what leads you replaced with, Mine have also cracked, riding in NZ summer and winter rain is a fact of life which is why I have shrink wrapped my stock leads to retain some weather proofing. thanks.
Hi, I just got home from a short ride, parked the bike went through house to open the shed door started the bike and the ABS light is flashing, brake pads all good , oils good??? any ideas, thanks.
The 180 Avon has been great, hangs on well in wet or dry and has given consistent Ks on our rough Kiwi roads, I also changed the front tyre size DOWN to a 120/70ZR18 Pilot Road 4 GT, which has helped handling heaps, seems to turn in nicer with the 180 than the original tyre.Michelin Pilot Road...
I can make my Custom with Todds kits and pipes pop on decel by not fully closing the throttle of, I have a Harley with Thundermax kit which does exactly the same, my Griso also did it, not sure what chip it had. Most bikes pop on decel I have noticed. Chop down another cog stops it. Why do they...
Check spark plug caps/covers, I replaced plugs at 20000 and had arcing issues from the standard caps, you should be able ti see small white arc marks on the boot, I taped mine up and they have been ok since but will need replacing with NGK ones at some time.
