you can fit CRG lane splitters but will need to make a minor mod to the spacer (i cut mine with a hacksaw, easy) and possibly a longer bolt. if i'm not mistaken, you might find a pic of my bike with them in this forum.
Re: Weight testing: 2012 Guzzi Stelvio NTX vs. 2012 BMW R120
hiyas Todd....been there, done that! :D
and with all the respect in the world, i don't agree with your opening statement.... oh well.
regards,
we went from the Metzelers to the Pirelli Demons (higher profile in the rear), but also at the same time that we changed out the suspension. what i do know is that the bike handled better after the change, and many around these parts blame the tires for the "wobbly" feeling at high speeds.
Personally? I think the cast/tubeless wheels are a definite improvement in that they should help save some unsprung weight/rotational mass and help the bike's turn-in. the additional power that the motor produces can only be a positive as well. what i do find interesting is that the bike he...
Yes, absolutely, on both fronts. I think the bike was far from responsive in stock form, and better with the modifications Todd employed for me, but a responsive and stable bike it is not, in stock form, especially when comparing it to real road going motorcycles. Not sure how else to say it...
Yes, thank you for the review of the new V7, Todd, most appreciated. Having said that, I'm a bit surprised to hear you say this about the bike, but perhaps the tubless and cast wheels have made a felt difference in both weight and handling characteristics. But flickable and stable chassis are...
so,
Todd and I decided to remove the PCV and AT given that the check engine light, slight idling issue and decel popping couldn't be remedied and I simply didn't want to spend much more time dealing with it (more on DynoJet's side than our own). The good news is that Todd was able to work on...
let me see if i can tackle this one.....we know one thing, and that is, that the V7 bar ends have threaded inserts, at least the V7 Classic ones do. hence, any bar end mirror adapter will not fit inside the bar end itself (obviously). that leaves you with either using only the adaptive piece...
I had them removed from mine, you can see them in my before and after thread. The only thing I have to fix are the mounting bolts on the front signals which are too long now and don't allow for the mounts to be tightened down.
Looking good,
update.....the bike is back in GuzziTech's hands as we try to improve on a few things (CEL, fork rebound, funny idle). looking forward on reporting back when the bike is back in my hands.
fun thread.....and gotta say that my feelings thus far are spot-on identical with Plaxo's. i've owned a bunch of motorcycles as well, and this is my second Guzzi, and the only reason i own it is because i wanted something different, something italian (the new Bonnies don't do it for me)...
Todd will obviously be the one to help you but know that I have the same setup (pcv/at/flashed ecu) and same outcomes (popping on decel, check engine light). My bike is back in Todd's hands and we're hoping that a couple of ECU tweaks take care of the CEL at the least. I'll be able to report...
it's funny....i can easily grasp the "spring(s) is/are too soft concept but have more difficulty understanding the converse (above).....having a too stiff spring (no preload needed let's say) and also having too much free sag is less easy for me to understand.
thanks for taking the time to...
i always have the most difficulty with the concept bolded/underlined above. the easiest way for me to understand it is to think of the bike being suspended in air.....if the rear spring (for example) is too soft, the measurement between the axle and let's say the rear tail light (unsprung)...
