I was forced to run a couple hundred miles with a blown out crossover gasket and my mileage dropped into the low 20's. I am sure air was getting to the O2 sensor and threw the ECU into a tizzy. Point being that would lead to a guaranteed fail of an emissions test.
I'm shocked at the condition...
I finally got into mine. I am the one who had no charging or lights when I got my bike and found the lighting relay had no supply, figuring it was a fault in the harness. So I just ran a hot wire to it. No smoke or flame ensued and went on to put 17K miles last year.
So anyway I found no...
Is there a thread here about gas tank removal. Searching gas tank returned every post ever made here I think. I want to locate the fasteners and order of removal in reassembly.
I have to dive in to inspect the alternator connector.
One year report, part 2, after a slight delay.
So I find a Stelvio in Miami and took some chances buying it sight unseen but a video, from some yahoos. 2013, 570 miles, no idea about the back story, $10K at my door by truck. The charging system didn't work. Long story. Related probably to...
Since riding season is pretty much officially over in Michigan today with the weather turning it’s time to jabber about bikes so here is the first part of my long story and review of the Stelvio. Specifically the NTX, mine a 2013.
First things first. I had a 73 Guzzi V7 Sport back in 77-78. My...
I torqued mine twice in 12K and blew one clean out today. In Omaha. Will look for Kawi parts.
PS
Actually advice on the order of dis assembly and gasket part numbers would be super. Assuming any are in stock. Is there a Japanese match for at the cylinder?
I could live with the noise by my...
Embarrassingly I have been trying for 4 weeks to get my new key to work. I got an Aprilla key and had it cut.
There is no option on in my menu for 'change key'. There is only 'change the code' and 'code recovery'.
Inserting the new key right after the old key, or at any time, brings up the...
I see All Balls brand ones on Amazon but am sketchy if the one they list for the Stelvio is correct. At any rate are aftermarket ones the way to go and where would I get them.
I am not sure why the seals would dry out on an upside down fork since it's bathed in oil at all times.
Probably right about just replacing the seals but it is a 13 I got in December with 570 miles. 2500 miles when it started leaking. I can't figure why the seal would be bad.
I just got back to Michigan after 5 weeks on the road. From Denver to Sequoia NP and Eureka CA to Judith Landing Montana, look it up, about the most adventurous place I was, on the Missouri Breaks, 30 miles of gravel road I won't give a boring ride report. Here is the obligatory camp picture...
It's obvious I think that tank removal is needed to get at the connector?
Not eager to do this on the road and as I said I have 3500 miles on my kludge fix with no problems at all.
I am the one who had the symptom last winter on a purchased bike. I jumped a hot wire to the relay and 3500 mi later no issues. Am 1 week into a month on the road. Will take this under consideration
