While you are building up a tool kit, you need to add the hex key for the bolt that secures the gas tank. That key is another one that is missing but will be invaluable if you ever need to take the tank off to trouble shoot a problem.
sib, on the single throttle body V7s there is no separate TPS, it's all built into the ECU/Throttle body. You can't get a TPS for this bike because that part does not exist.
Well damn! The next suspect would be the voltage regulator (actually regulator/rectifier) or the connector at the alternator. Pete Roper or others probably have experience with those items. Let's hope it's just a loose connection 'cause those things don't seem to fail often. Still, stuff...
Hi Larry, not all V7s do the stalling thing but I have heard of several that did so I suspect it all comes down to the fact that the EPA requirements put the engine right on the ragged edge of running like crap. If anything is just a bit out of spec they don't run right. Mine never did the...
Oscar, another 'welcome aboard'. The 750s really don't gain much by way of performance unless you throw some serious money into the mods. Even then the gains are small when compared to some of the new 600cc bikes on the market. The limiting factor is the heron heads which won't flow well at...
Not to be talking down to anyone...but you can get your relay info here: http://www.bcae1.com/relays.htm
I'd recommend using the OEM horn + connection (check with a volt meter to make sure you are correct) as the trigger for your new relay. Then connect a + fuzed wire from the battery to the...
Single throttle body or dual throttle bodies? If the former, I'd suspect the valve lash. For the dual TB it could be TB balance, valve lash, or maybe even a problem with the O2 sensor.

On the Stelvio there is a plastic sleeve to mate the threaded opening on the block to the dip stick. It's pretty easy to use a small crescent wrench to take this sleeve out of the block so you can get a real funnel in there and add oil. I made a 'wrench' out of 1/4" aluminum stock for the odd...
Marshy, don't let the 12 month warranty stop you from trying a claim for replacement from Guzzi. It's a common enough problem that Guzzi just might replace the tank for you.
I had the same thing happen to my NTX and got a warranty replacement. Now I don't have those wind wings installed and...
A couple questions: How many miles on the bike...and which bike exactly. If it's super low mileage, did you re-torque the heads yet?
It is not normal to pump oil into the air box so I'd guess that you over filled at least a little. From what I can see in the photos I don't think your oil...
Other than the aux lights (as already noted) the Stelvio NTX is trouble free...for the most part. Mine ('12 non roller cam) has about 16K miles and has never left me stranded. Along the way she has run like a scalded ape and never complained. We did about 8K trouble free miles in the first 6...
I think I have finally found a good balance between the front and rear suspension on my V7 Special. Today I put in just 20 miles as a test of the new setup. The suspension is much more supple, no hobby horse action, expansion joints don't launch me from the seat, the front end soaks up more of...
This probably won't solve OP's problem but I'll offer it up for all. Every motorcycle I have owned since...way back when...has had marginal electrical connections between the battery and engine block, also from generator/alternator and battery. The wires are usually just barely large enough to...
Alan, it's not really clear unless you look at page 155 where it says "THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK MUST BE PERFORMED WITH THE ENGINE WARM AND THE DIPSTICK NOT SCREWED IN". This is easy to miss due to the fact that the owners manual is so thick and uses such small type. Man, I wish they would...
Using oil is NOT normal. My Stelvio NTX has never used oil between changes, now at about 16.5K miles. There is something wrong here if you are going through oil. The normal suspect is that the crankcase is over filled and the engine is then blowing the excess into the airbox...and later into...
I can't remember..does that open drain allow unfiltered air into the engine? If so, it's best to replace the line or at least plug that hole. Of course, plugging the hole will lead to oil getting sucked into the throttle bodies and gunking them up.

John, I generally agree with you (CARC bikes are heavy and any performance mods will not be cost effective) but need to point out that the 8V bikes are single plugged...at least my '12 Stelvio is.
I have the heated grips installed and they are only OK, not going to burn your hands! My Norge was about the same. When it's so cold I want the heat I'll take even that token of comfort. That's when I am really happy to have the hand guards.
