Try cleaning the O2 sensor. That's next to free.
I have seen used O2 sensors for $35 on eBay.
Mine idles speed normal until it warmed up then idled at 1800-2000.
I can but its $89. Mine is twisted from a slow lean over in the garage but works. Not really wanting to try and twist it back as it will probably break the pot metal casting.
Pinwall doesn't curently have a used one in stock. Gutsbits is $78 but has to cross have the globe to get here.
So not...
Thanks Todd
I have completely blocked all the stepper motor passages. The one that goes to the air box and the ones going to the throttle bodies. Sealed with thick vaccium caps and zip tied in place. The stepper motor is still bolted in place but neither the in or out is connected to the airbox...
I got the bike with a few hundred miles. It seemed to develop after a few thousand miles. So the TB were set at factory specs. I have been chasing this for 12k miles or so. Only one bypass screw is now open. The throttle bodies are spotless. The yellow paint on the sacred screw appears to...
Still having problem with fast idle when the engine gets nice and hot up to operating temp.
Idles at 1800.
No error codes.
I have blocked off the stepper motor and all vacuum connections.
Checked all the boots and clamps and airbox for leaks.
Nothing seems abnormal. Even spraying WD40 around...
Ok so we know the ecu has the ability to read the engine temp and the VSDT can display the engine temp.
Has anyone figured out a way to into that so that we can have a engine temp gauge for these bikes?
Perhaps I should have been more clear.
This happens within 3-5 minutes from stone cold.
What temps are you all getting with your infrared thermometers?
I have had plenty of air cooled bikes and I have to say I have yet to notice glowing orange header pipes in the daytime this quickly.
Its...
Quick question.
Do your exhaust pipes glow orange while the bikes in the garage and you rev it to 4000 rpm for like when your balancing throttle bodies?
Measuring the pipe temp right at where the pipe exits the head and before the curve I am getting 400 degrees F.
Is this normal? Both sides...

I saved hundreds of hours and dollars with the tech info here and provided by Todd.
I had a similar noise on a Ducati. It turned out to be a ball bearing or two with flat spots on one I the camshaft ends.
The only way I found it is I was turning the bearing by hand while it was out of the bike and I just happened to feel the notches. The flat spots just happens to be turned to...
You didn't mention your weight or how much weight you are carrying.
If our bike is undersprung, as most bikes are, you will have handling problems as well.
Also no mention of what tyre pressures your running.
Anybody found any small or micro duckbill drains that would fit in the bottom of the back of the gauge cluster so water can drain out but nothing could get in?
Ducati was quietly replacing tanks even out of warranty .... until the class action lawsuit, then you only got one replacement tank and that was it. So its probably not advisable to create a class action law suit... :?
The Guzzi tanks seem to be cast much thicker nylon than the Ducati tanks...
