Hello Folks, been a number of years since I logged in. I am still deployed overseas and not in the US very often. This year I sold my Indian Chieftain as I do not ride it, but kept my 1985 T5. It has about 13K miles on it and has lived most of its life in a climate controlled garage not...
Thanks guys, I'll be home in January and take a look at it. I might get the shakes like a jonesing crack addict and buy it anyway. With my T5 living up north, I need a Guzzi in the barn. A man can't be expected to live with just an Indian.
I have become interested in adding a another bike to the stable. I have an Indian as my main steed, keep a T5 at my sons for occasional visits but feel the itch for another Guzzi. I am electonically looking at what appears to be a cherry Cali with under 7K on the clock. While it appears...
Hope your new bike is all you desire. I have always been very fond of British bikes, but if I was shy with a spanner Triumph might not be my first choice. I bought an old Chevy truck for cheap transportation. Every time I turned around I had to replace components. It was killing me. I had...
The cost of storage is very expensive and they have a short shelf life whether you use it or not. As I sell 100% of the power I produce, the system is maximized. I can install a back up generator that will last for decades and not have to worry about power consumption. The goal is...
Sometimes when I run into performance issues, I go back to basics and check all adjustments. Timing, fuel mixture, valve lash, spark (be it points or electronic), check and replace air and fuel filters if need be, adjust or service carbs. As John mentioned, back pressure is a critical component...
I did have my avatar as a picture with me and my Indian as I hadn't ridden the Guzzi yet. Felt it would be phony to stick a picture up before I had thrown a leg over the saddle. The bike resides at my sons house in New Hampshire and he runs it often. The bike had only clocked 12K in 31 years...
What a great looking sled. Love to see you keep up with the posts, pictures and progress. Older Guzzis are my favorite. One day when I return to America I will get a 70's model to restore. It would take very little for that bike to be 100% trustworthy for coast to coast rides. Don't worry...
Great bike. Freshen the tires and fluids, tune it and run that baby. Those sleds last a long time and will give you a great ride as is. Your bike do as you wish, but I wouldn't change it. Your dad's bike, don't sell.
