    guess this road......

just a bit south of that. All of Spain is made up of "autonomous communities." In hindsight, that might not have been the best name to use (for what would be "states" in the U.S.) as it would encourage any (and all) of them to assume that they were already halfway to being fully independent...

For those in SD Air & Space Museum Brings ‘Speed’ in 2018

my first thought was real surprise that South Dakota even had such a museum--I should go. But, then... (ah, I see my name on the rear cowl)

    guess this road......

With those hints, I'm not sure you wouldn't have had it even without the picture. The language is English (mostly and sort of), the very common last name is "Jones", the movie is "How Green was my Valley" and you'll see abandoned coal mines all over. Are you in Spain? Let's try this: First...

    guess this road......

Bill, there's a movie that takes place very near this spot (I'm guessing) that is perhaps more (in)famous for having beat out Citizen Kane for the Best Picture Oscar. Years later, Citizen Kane is regarded as one of the best films of all time and the other movie is hardly known at all. I've...

    guess this road......

I'll add a few hints to help make it solvable: People speak English, but even so, you might have trouble understanding them. There are a couple of sheep next to the road. Also, this land was once heavily mined, but those scars have mostly healed by now. It often seems that pretty much...

    guess this road......

I love that area; it's one of the best in the country. The ride along highway 12 and then highway 24 through the Escalante and then Capitol Reef (where your photograph was taken) is just one stunning view after the next. Highway 12 is one of the few roads that has a sharp drop-off on both...

    guess this road......

it's just about twenty-five miles west of Green Valley, heading west on the way to Kitt Peak.
  8. Daniel Kalal

    guess this road......

close enough... This one isn't too terribly far from you; have you been there?
  9. Daniel Kalal

    guess this road......

Romania is perhaps too far out of bounds, so let's try this much easier one... - the center and edge road paint tells you it must be in the U.S. - the grapes with the distant yellow grass tells you it must be California. - name the road (bonus for the name of that mountain in front of you)
  10. Daniel Kalal

    guess this road......

    Transfăgărășan, România.

    guess this road......

Ah; Bill has discovered the secret to a vast amount of meta-data that is attached to all my photographs. Quite right, Bill; that's cheating...

    guess this road......

well, then... I think there are just five folks following this thread (California, Arizona, Virginia, U.K, and Kansas) and this photo isn't from any of those places, but it's pretty well known, so I hope you might get it anyway. I took this in September; name it:

    guess this road......

It might be a softball, but here we go... I took this shot just a few years ago. Name it.
  14. Daniel Kalal

    guess this road......

Is this thread up and running, again? Very good. Bill--I saw your Germany post and thought I'd at least name the country if not the road (for the paint scheme on the road, which somewhat defines where it is).
  15. Daniel Kalal

    guess this road......

Big Creek Bridge (1937). It's north of Gorda and south of Big Sur. [36.070117, -121.600374]

    guess this road......

Well, I did say "stupid-easy" but, I didn't mean insanely-easy. California Highway 1 is 650 miles long; let's at least narrow it to a fifty mile stretch (or perhaps the name of that bridge). I'd expect that most Guzzi owners in California have already been on this bit (or have plans to do it...

    guess this road......

Here's one that should be stupid-easy. Hint; it's California.

    guess this road......

Here's something not terribly far to the west of that road...

oil drip from lower brakeline attachment hole in swingarm, just fwd of CARC.

By your description of the clamping forces on that bellows, it seems unlikely that that would be the leak path (with or without RTV)--back to the pinion seal, then. As it's not as trivial a solution as I'd hoped, I'll put it to Moto Guzzi N.A. to be taken care of through the normal warrantee...
  20. Daniel Kalal

    guess this road......

You might be able to identify this road (likely, you've even ridden it). I'm afraid we're down to two contestants. Anybody else out there who takes photographs on the ride? Post them!
