its the button. if i hold it in bike will start, if i let it go out pops out and bike stops. tried it several times and all the same result
Any springs etc going to disappear into the void if i take it off ?
Went out to the bike today ready to go, gloves on. I accidentally pushed the kill button before I started bike, now it won't start.
Checked the fuses -ok, tried again, no luck. The dash lights up but I don't hear the pump. Disconnected the battery for 5 mins but no luck, still no start
Any...
weather a bit milder today so i thought ' i will fit the Oxford ancillary lights today. whilst moving the tank i nearly had a disaster when it slipped in my hands and lurched to the left. managed to catch it, phew
lifted tank off and realised it had pulled hose off that i was due to...
i took bike to a mate who had just bought a new battery for one of his bikes, unopened, still in box. swopped them around and no change. took one out of his daily runner - no change. so i guess it is a strip down to check antenna on the barrell. i will let you know what result is - thanks...
as I said Scott, i have viewed the various threads but havent found any that advise how to get at the barrel - asking for advice on that. Battery has been load tested and is fine, alternator charging at 14.1
would a poor battery show 02 error code on the dash indicating a faulty antenna ?
following a strop for fuel the bike (Norge 1200) went into lockdown mode when I tried to start it, nothing happening until I put in the security code, then able to start bike but with red triangle of death and Service sign on dash all the time.
tried three different keys, all same result...
Great that's what I had thought, thanks. One question for my own education _ what does the spring top out do ? It sits on a rigid rod and in top of the tube so what does it actually do ?
do 14, 15 fit inside 9 which is then bolted through bottom of fork ? the service manual shows it being inserted after 15 and the spring ion top ? no way that spring is getting compressed in that order ?
so from bottom of tube up is it 19, 9, 14 ,15 and then spring ?
pulled the fork from the bike, unscrewed the fork cap and everything shot out on the floor.
so to be clear, 9 sits in the leg under the tube and screw goes through that and 19 and screws into 15 ? or have i got that wrong
had a bit of trouble changing the seal in the fork leg, but overcame it, seal was almost welded to the fork leg, all well until taking the cap off the leg, went off like a rocket due to the spring tension, parts all over the floor
what is the correct order of refitting ?;
Buffer onto pumping...
i have very limited space getting my bike out of garage, roll it to get rear wheel onto a plank and place a turntable under the stand, foot on stand and pull up with right hand, left on handlebars. my problem is getting the bike off the centre stand whilst seated on bike, need longer legs i think
Did them on my Norge in May. easy strip down, no probs. I used Hammerite smooth silver colour which I must admit looked very good.
As usual plenty of prep and not rushing the coats is the key to a good finish
Failed totally to get the sucker out. Its going to need a welding torch to heat it up.
Currently all bolted back up until I can find someone with the heat capacity
I created a little cup from blutack around the bolt and filled it with acetone/light oil mix which has worked for me in the past. Left it soaking until today and tried again
A bit of heat, grips onto it and absolutely nothing, no sign of movement at all. Cup back on and diesel dropped in to...
