    V7 driveshaft heat

Hi, just noticed the drive shaft unit gets warm/hot around 50-60 degrees Celsius after a 25 km drive. Is this normal? Oil is up to the level. New oil etc. I never checked it in the past but I just changed the oil and felt how hot it gets. Is this normal? Thanks

    V7/9 Fuel Filter Replacement How-To

Good luck. Take your time. Don’t rush. Be patient. It may take lot longer than you think. You may need the right tools to undo the existing filter clamps and to put back new clamps on without damaging the fuel pipe. I took the whole fuel pump unit to local Suzuki shop as I didn’t have a proper...

    V7/9 Fuel Filter Replacement How-To

Not sure about that. I have used all sorts of petrol in different time to stop the decel popping after customising the exhaust pipes. Changing fuel made no difference but Guzzi tech ECU reflash. I have used 91, 95,96 petrol. But my filter still looked great. In saying that I have seen some...

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

draining the final drive oil is a good idea before you start it. Once the bolts are out you will be able to pull the final drive out. The whole unit should come out. The back of the final drive will not come off if it’s stuck like mine which means you will have to tap around the joint until it...

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

Sorry for the late reply Peter. I just followed the work shop manual. Is your bike a v7? If you want v7 work shop manual that I can e mail it. Use a stand that you can lift the rear of the bike. Remove the exhaust rear part of the pipe on left hand side. Undo both shocks from the bottom...

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

You don’t have to remove the drive shaft to get in to the spline.

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

I tried to find a space but there wasn’t. I didn’t wanna break it to inject grease from a needle because i thought it will be a way for moisture to get in. Someone suggested sealing it back with sealant. But I wasn’t sure how long sealant will last. I also learnt that the bearings are not...

Swingarm pivots and bearing were fine. Was still greasy. I am glad I did this. I think water got in through the cover by tranny. I rode the bike through out a one winter. 10000 ks. bummer this is not part of the service that MG should have included.

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

I did the greasing last week. this is the out come. A- spline was stuck to the drive shaft and had to tap to pull the spline off. spline was rusted. Old grease has gone dry and it was like clay. Rusty moisture was in spline. But the good thing was that there was no damage to the spline...

    V7 two Swingarm greasing

thanks John, I see what you mean. I will still pull it apart and see how I go. Manual says AGIP NLGI 2 grease conventional. I can’t find AGIP Grease in New Zealand. I got all the AGIP oil but not grease. So I am going with Valvoline NLGI 2 conventional. I like to use synthetic as I was told it’s...
