Can anyone provide dimensions for the upper gearbox bracket used on red frame V11 Sport,
Or know of a shop reproducing them?
pic for reference, but it doesn't show much
Thanks
I’ve seen a V7 locally that had Excel rims laced to stock hubs. At around half the cost of Kineos it’s still pretty pricey.
You could contact Woodys Wheel Works in Denver. They can build pretty much any wheel you want.
Happy Holidays Guzzisti!
I fitted a Cal 1400 front wheel to my V9 project and I’m trying to get the brakes finished over the Holidays. I don’t have a rotor available but all the images I can find online look like it’s 0 offset.
Can anyone verify the offset for a Cal/Audace rotor?
thanks!
A lot of Italian manufacturers use the same electronics suppliers.
If you have a Guzzi, Aprilia or Ducati shop in town they probably have a bin full of take off turn signals.
Maybe you can find a match?
I stand corrected. Upon closer inspection that is the v85 engine. The lower crank case casting and cylinder bolts look different than the v9.
I too am disappointed they didn’t monoshock it. Hopefully Guzzi is working on a sportier 850 with modern suspension.
I like it and it looks like Moto Guzzi is moving in the right direction. Not far enough in the right direction to sway me from my current V9/7 conversion though.
Actually the new V7 850 looks like it’s just a factory V9/7 conversion, with the V9 engine not the V85.
I’m looking forward to what...
I would inspect the spark plug leads. Common problem on the V7c and V7ii.
Pull them off the plugs and look for burn marks on the porcelain.
I would start here because it only takes 10 seconds to check. Then move on to checking deeper.
bump:
I found a wheel and measured the hub spacing to be 129mm bearing to bearing.
Still, if anyone can provide the fork distance that would be awesome!
Could anyone provide me with the front hub spacing dimensions for a 2014 California 1400?
I’m looking for the width from outer bearing faces as well as inner width between forks.
thanks
I’d still get the oil leak documented by the dealer.
I believe the warranty is two years which starts the day the bike is sold.
I have also seen many “good faith” warranty repairs done after expiration, especially on well known and documented failures like the rear drive oil leak.
I didn’t realize they were that close in weight. You’ll have to ride both and compare.
As far as price goes, in my area the Guzzi dealer will almost pay you to take a V7 or V9. You can get them for almost $2k under msrp.
I also, mistakenly, assumed the BMW was closer to $12k-13k.
Either way I...
I don’t think there are any switch gear that’s plug n play.
New bars, grips, levers and mirrors are simple and can change up the look and feel significantly.
In my opinion they are both nice motorcycles but very different machines.
The Guzzi is smaller and feels smaller. The beemer is bigger but doesn’t feel like a boat. It does have double the power but you could buy two V7 for the price of one R9T, so same hp per dollar.
