Broken retaining rings for Agostini mufflers

Ouch. For those interested, I did just get a note from Agostini saying they have a new version of the snap rings “which are of better quality.” One can hope..

Broken retaining rings for Agostini mufflers

Hmm, I never heard they were a POS.. Other than the issue with the c-clips I have to say I like mine a lot, in terms of both looks and sound. Of course, if the pipes themselves start falling apart on me I’ll be singing a different tune!

Broken retaining rings for Agostini mufflers

Just curious if anyone else has had this problem, and what if anything you were able to do about it. I’ve lost track of how many retaining rings for the db-killers in my Agostini reverse carbon cone mufflers have broken, but I think probably five or six. I am attaching here pictures of the...

V7 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

I had a very similar mark one racer for about a year and had a blast on it. Ultimately at 57 years old, my knees and back weren’t quite made for that riding position, but it’s a fun bike and I got more comments and thumbs up on it than any other bike I’ve ridden.

    V7 III GTM Muffled Drags

Just curious if you are still hanging around these parts Ajackz, and if so any video or audio update? I'd be interested to both see & hear more about how these pipes worked out for you, esp how they sound underpower and going through a few gears.

    V7 III vs BMW R nine T?

Hey, yes, I ended up going with a V7III Stone S. I was never able to find an R9T to test ride, and I finally succumbed to the gorgeous gas tank on the Stone S. I been very happy with it. I've done several mods to get it to where I want it, including several Guzzitech parts and minor...

    GTM ECU V7 & V9 Flash Tool

I was actually slightly tempted by the W800, as I’ve always sort of liked that long stroke, low compression feel. So like you I felt like my V7III was sort of jerky. I attributed it to the gearing, but once I did the GT reflash it definitely felt smoother, and as Todd explained to me it probably...

V7 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

Nice! I had that exact same model for about a year or so, and it was indeed a blast to ride. If I were a younger man (or at least had younger knees and back) I would still have it..

    'Jerky' engine braking

Might well just be the fueling. I felt similarly about my new V7III and it was straightened out by the Guzzitech reflash.

No left hand mirror mount on V7III Stone S..?

Thanks Todd, I'll send you an email to follow up, but just to be clear for others who may also have the Stone S, the NON-mirror mount is what I have on the left hand control and the YES-mirror mount I have on the right control and want to put on the left as well. It's that mismatch that is...

No left hand mirror mount on V7III Stone S..?

Yes, there are lots available. In fact today I took half of an old mount I had from my last motorcycle and replaced it, though it has an 8 mm thread rather than a 10 mm thread. Anyway I’ll figure something out, but I am curious as to why only one side has it.
