Don't know what the underside of the '14 looks like, but it fits well in my '18 V7 Milano (with the aluminum fenders), which has exactly zero storage. If you have any dip or recess under the seat, you should be able to cram it in there. Regardless its the most compact kit I've seen for stashing...
Bought these a while ago and haven't gotten around to installing. They are pretty. Quick question for non-mechanic — any tips on install? Other than proper torque setting (7-9 Nm), is there a tightening pattern that should be followed, or any special applications (i.e. oil) applied to the...
This next on my list. Thank you for the detailed instructions and pics. Couple questions before I begin.
1. Regarding plugging the line from the intake — where did you source the metal slug?
2. I was also thinking of just removing the line entirely, and capping the intake with a 1/4” vacuum...
Even if it did work, now that I know what all the tach does, I don't think I would replace it. Sounds like you would loose the ability to control the MGCT (+ trip meters, distance travelled in reserve, temperature, etc.) Little overkill, but kinda nice. Gauges on my previous bikes (Guzzi v11...
My understanding, from previous thread, is that the tach on v7iii can not be easily replaced as it is integral to the ECU. I was hoping to do the same... but doesn’t sound practical.
As far as tie down straps (and other bags), you might also check out Mosko Moto backcountry straps (or simple strap). They make gear for long distance touring, off-road, etc and looks like quality, built for abuse, kind of stuff.
Thought about that... was thinking that tow truck would probably have compressor but not neccesarily patch/plug kit. Might save a tow. (And much easier with tubeless of course). Small/light bike pump is an option too. But I agree, if I had tubes, probably wouldn’t bother.
Thanks for the photos! That helps a lot. Bags look really nice. Looks like they block access to the rear pegs though? Was trying to figure out if there was a way to mount a little further back. (And nice little stable you got going on).
In Todd’s defense, the topic was custom side-panel bags. Think I’m starting to figure this guy out. :)
So I keep reading about this mythical tray—sound luxurious. I assume that this is only on models with the molded plastic fender. Aluminum fender has no tray — the only space is a small gap...
I added the 3mm/4mm hex bit, a 6mm socket (which nicely fits inside the 10 and 12 Russian doll style), and the spark plug socket (all from MP), and can confirm that all of those fit in the case (minus the plug socket extension, which isn’t really needed) — but starting to get pretty tight. I...
Congrats! I must admit, when I went to pick up the Milano I ordered, they had just gotten the shine in as well — I was seriously tempted to change my mind at the last minute. :) Such a beautiful bike! (much better than the anniversario imho — and I love the anniversario). Enjoy!
I’ve been looking at these myself (for v7iii Milano), but have a couple concerns (apart from the price tag, ouch) — would love to get your thoughts.
One is the over-the-seat connection straps. They don’t look particularly comfortable to sit on. Have you used them with passengers? How’d it go...
Interesting idea — definitely something I might consider. Thanks for the photo. Hate to ask for more, but any chance you can post one zoomed out a bit so we can see the overall proportions on the bike? Did you remove spacers on the tail assembly also? What’s your thoughts on visibility/safety —...
+1 on the MP Tool. If you do, you might also consider carrying the MP 3/4mm hex bit (needed for the side panels), and 5/8” spark plug socket, which I just ordered from their website.
FYI... I did find a small toolkit that fits under the seat perfectly! Made by some mad puzzle/tool genius — Motion Pro MP tool. I haven’t had much need to test it yet, but looks like it will cover most of what’s needed, and there is room to add additional sockets/hex (and the GT Oil Cap Tool)...
The silent as I want option is interesting. I must admit the full 2>2 reverse cone megs that you make for the v7i/ii are pretty stunning! Btw... no disrespect intended posting about agostini products... given that you are an agostini dealer, and would likely try and work through you... was...
Thanks for the input. I’m sure in my inexperience I’m not considering all of the factors. My only reference is my stock v11 sport exhaust, which was single walled, simple, looked great, and served me well for 17+ years. A little discolorization over time, but just a nice patina, that always...
I must admit, the one thing I personally don’t like about the v7iii is the double walled exhaust — just feels like so much extra useless metal and weight. Would love to replace with full agostini pipes (i.e. headers, crossover, and silencers). As far as I can tell, however, they don’t seem to be...
Finally got it out for some proper exercise. Rides beautifully. Very happy. (Shocks are pretty mediocre, but that’s easy enough to fix — next on the list). ZGULDU018JM000028
New v7iii owner. Just breaking it in. On a somewhat related but seperate issue, I have noticed that shifting takes a lot of effort when the bike is cold shifting from neutral to 1st, or 1st to 2nd, but gets much easier after 5-10 minutes or so. After warm up seems to shift very smoothly. Never...
