How to convert V7 Racer III to standard bars and foot pegs?

I looked at this a while back, tons of parts to get to switch from Racer bars/pegs/shifter to Stone. I decided to go with just a higher bar setup to start, and found that was actually great. I did not need to change the pegs or go to an even higher Stone bar. Here is that thread...

    Racer with riser bars

Bar mention in this thread, and yes was available at Guzzi Tech store.

    Racer with riser bars

Oh, Todd made up a kit with all the OEM Moto Guzzi parts for the risers. I'm sure he does not stock that, but if you email him I'm sure he can pull that together. Made it super easy. I just ordered that "kit" from him plus the bars I wanted as well. Ok, here is a link...

    Racer with riser bars

If you go from Racer clip ons to the bars I did, it is much easier than going all the way to Stone upright bars. Going all the way to the Stone bars would most likely require: - longer front brake hose - Stone clutch cable - Stone throttle cables - All electrical switch gear from the stone (or...

    Racer with riser bars

If you do not want to drop the forks down you will need to pull off the top triple clamp. That is the way I did it.

    V7 ii basic maintenance?

So is it safe to say the 5 speed Stones (US 2013-2015) has the larger capacity gearbox oil and the 6 speed stone (US 2016 ii) has a 6 speed and uses ~1/2 the capacity of the 5 speed Stones? So rocking and clicking through gears, DirtieGirtie can find our 5 spd vs 6 spd and be 100% sure of...

    Racer with riser bars

So ... when the fork tubes come out of the top triple clamp, and are only supported/held by the lower triple clamps with loosened bolts, and the entire front wheel is putting bendy pressure on the lower clamp ... no worries? and you gotta expose several inches to get those stock clip-ons out...

    Racer with riser bars

Sorry for late reply, not come on here that much any more. You would need to lift the front end and remove the front wheel and fender to do the fork slide down approach ... seems easier to me to take the top triple clamp off.

    V7II fuel tank on V7III?

Allan - did you dig into this more? I'm considering the same thing. I looked up the price of a new V7 III Stone tank, a shocking $2300!!! And as you pointed out, lots more V7 II tanks on eBay than the v7 III.

    V7 II Racer or Griso?

It will be interesting to hear what happens. In CA, for non Moto Guzzi bikes, I know of cases where they got the exact same bike (and they wanted that) and cases where they got all their money back (and that's the option they wanted). Not sure if you are happy happy with your dealer, but...

    Norge 1200 exhaust valve issues

You may already know this, but to get the "free" kit you have to have a dealer put in the claim ... which means they have to inspect the tappets, take pictures, etc ... and the dealer has to do the work and you pay the labor. As I looked into this ... one place wanted $350 to do the...

    Valve Tappet Fix Poll

Just doing normal oil changes and adjusting valves at proper intervals will not stop the flat tappets from wearing down. So some think "I'm taking care of my bike, all is well", but no. And to really check it, you need to pull the cam boxes, pull out the tappets and look at them ... I think a...

2017 V7 III Check Engine Light

Again, not sure about our V7 III's, but with my KTM 990 and TuneECU, you can turn off the O2 Sensors and then you get no more codes from them. You can remove them and no ECU code from that. Or leave them in and no codes from them. Not sure if the V7 ECU has such a setting.

2017 V7 III Check Engine Light

So if you re-map a V7, and the new map does not use the O2 Sensors, are the O2 Sensors "turned off"? Or just ignored? Wondering, if this remap was done, would that bike still have check engine light due to O2 Sensors or would it then ignore it? Basically, is there a way to tell the ECU to...

1.5 hrs for break-in service on V7 Racer..?

Sounds like you got a great deal! What dealer was that? The Service Manual for a v7 iii says the first service is 100 minutes of labor, figure a v7 ii would be a bit more for the head re-torque. Seems my dealer rounded up, and quoted some special fairy dust as I was quoted ~$540 for the first...

Advice on first service for V7 Racer

On the V7 iii the first service is due at 1500 kilometers (932.06 miles. Seriously, that is in the manual!). Not sure why the iii is much higher than the ii. For the ii, if I am paying a dealer to do the work, I'd rather it be a Moto Guzzi dealer that knows the bike. Things like: - how to...

    V7 II/III clubman bars

I did this, but went from a Racer clip ons to the Brooks Bar that Todd referenced above. I cut the switch gear locator tabs off, and they clamp on fine ... tighten them down, they don't rotate. For me, I wasn't 100% sure where I was going to have the bar & levers (degrees up/down, etc) and...

    N Ca Guzzi riders

I live the Mountain View area, so not too far away for these "north of San Francisco" rides. I'm out of the area until 5/7, but definitely up for a ride sometime in May.

    Racer III Tires

Sounds like you already have a plan ... but just FYI, I have a 2017 Viii Racer with stock tires, no thumping of flat spot feeling, so certainly not some odd Moto Guzzi thing that you were told.
