The V9 has a lever starter switch and over the past year it does not go back after depressing it.
Once happened during a Dealer visit, and they said "Yeah, bad design" and they reset the code. They are just too far away!
But I am OK with it because I know to pull it back. My friend did not, and...
New stator installed, 13.2 - 14 amp. It worked out. Tech said heat burns them out; but it is the coolest running bike I ever had.
Hope this one last more than 12k.
2017 V9 Roamer, 11,600 miles. On road 2018.
Start the day at 13.1 volt battery charge, end of day at 11.4.
Dealer says 12.5 to 12.7 output is correct. Shop manual says 13-14k. They say no!
They are replacing the stator and possibly the regulator.
I have many different brands over the past 53...
As soon as I can (it's 100 degrees here), I am going to see if I can reset "TRIP D" on the roll when the light goes on. If that does not work, I will just leave the temperature on and get some fuel! :smirk:
137 miles and it showed I did 251 since the light went on. 338 total miles? I don't think so.
I always reset the trip odo on every fill, even cars. But just when you need it, it goes into a silly count mode (and mine obviously does not work). So if you rely on TRIP D, even that won't work if...
Owners manual (page 72) states fuel light will go on when low. When it does, the trip odometer goes into a count down (really a count up) in "miles". What the heck does it mean?
137 miles (trip D odo) 2.7 gallons and "251" on the trip odometer.
I love everything about their motorcycle except...
As H-D engines got bigger, the cooling problems increased. The "watercooled" (exhaust valve only) versions are still a big problem. These fans blow on the cylinder heads and really work;
I just leave them on from April to October.
Amazed at how cool my Guzzi stays!
Exactly what I thought! Bike runs fine for me; but after pulling over and literally watching the pipes turn blue freaked me out. I must have fought it too long thinking it was bad fuel. I love the gold/blue look but I am still going to attempt to remove it for now
I have had single wall Triumphs and I embrace the "blues" but this happened while I watched! Going to register right now; at first I was afraid to put my VIN down.
Thanks you!
