V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

Exactly, why should this fault appear after a tyre swap? The bike was on the ramp for six days because they couldn't get the rear tube off! And there was a delay getting the Michelin Airstop tubes that l wanted. This all goes back to my original thought that it might have dropped off the stand...

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

I get what you're saying, my concern is that it will happen again after a rear tyre change and l'm curious to know if they had any thoughts on the cause Considering that the bike wasn't used for several months of the warranty period because of Covid lockdowns in the UK l thought that some...

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

Hmmm. I e-mailed Piaggio at the beggining of October to ask (politely) if they could shed any light on how a tyre change could cause this problem & if they could help in any way towards the £880 bill. No reply yet!

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

The tech couldn't say for sure but on the bill there was a huge list of parts: 5th + 6th geardogs, gearshaft, three selector forks and various bushes and washers.

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

23/9/2022 At last! I'm back on the road again! Piaggio really should sort out their spares back-up. 3 1/2 months without my bike! So happy to be back on the road again though. I can finally scrub in the Pilot 5's that were fitted in June!

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

Well, two months (and 2 PCP payments) have passed and l still haven't got my bike back. What makes it worse is that l have just found out that Guzzis now come with a 4 year warranty! Of course my 3 year old bike doesn't qualify. Is it worth my while to contact Piaggio for a goodwill claim...

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

True; it's a new one on me too. My son spotted this- there looks to be scoring on the lower rose joint on the selector rod, or are they all like this?

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

That's what l'm starting to believe is the cause of the problem Kevin. I hope it is;the bike is out of warranty (even though it was unused during the 2 lockdowns in the UK)and l don't want to have to pay for a gearbox rebuild if l wasn't the cause of the problem.

V85TT jumping out of 6th gear

Hi all. Has anyone had a problem with their bike jumping out of 6th gear when under load? The bike is a 2019 and the problem only appeared on the ride home from its 12,000 service and new tyres being fitted. The gearbox oil is fine, l changed it the next day and 700cc came out and no signs of...

    New V7/85 65hp for 2021

If the new V7 has the V85TT motor, l wonder if the front exhaust pies are interchangable? I find the the V85 front pipes a PITA to keep looking presentable.

Wish l'd seen this before l fitted mine! I was stumped for a while fitting the bevel box bracket, the bolts supplied were too long and the bracket didn't follow the curve. What a pillock! I hadn't put the spacers in! It's on properly now and seems to be doing a good job of keeping the back end a...

Gutsibits website is listing them too,as well as the PDF of the fitting instructions. Doesn't look like it's going to be the 5 minute job that the B1100 was: the back wheel has to come off!

Thanks for the heads up Chris, my matt black rear hugger is now on order. Hopefully this should stop the rear shock getting so grubby. Last winter's commute is starting to take its toll on the top.

CANCELLED UK V85TT Meet & Moto Guzzi Day, NMM, Solihull. Saturday 8th August.

Thanks for the update Chris. I sincerely hope we all pull through this ok and l look forward to meeting up in August. The way things are being cancelled it may be the only event l can get to this year. I'm only on day 2 of isolation and the struggle to stop myself getting the bike out is intense!
