FWIW, seems like a few guys are bleeding the rear with some frequency. Are you bleeding the regular way, or reverse bleeding? Because I reverse bleed, did it once a year ago, and haven't needed to do it again. Of course, you should replace your brake fluid when it gets old, I'm just saying...
Of course, that's exactly what I did. Started my bike with the OEM key. Shut it down then immediately re-started with the Aprilia key. But just went back and tried the Aprilia key again (hours later) and it works fine. No code needed. Weird.
For my 2007 Norge, I bought an Aprilia key blank from Moto-International in Seattle for $11.50. Here's an online link if you want to see what it looks like. Then I mailed the blank along with my OEM key to Jason at J&B in Texas. Jason cut the key and mailed both of them back. Overall...
I see that Dynojet is now selling the PCV and AutoTune for the Norge, but they specify that it's for model years 2009 and 2010.
Can anybody educate me as to the differences between the 2009/2010 Norge engine and engine electrics and the earlier model years? I was under the impression that the...
I have an '07 Norge. Put your good key in the ignition and turn key to "on." Using the Mode button, go to "menu" then to "settings." Under "settings" go to "change code." Once you select "change code" you can use the Mode button to select any 5-digit code you want. Basically, it's a PIN...
Just returned from my 1st trip on the Norge. Attended the MGNOC Annual Rally in John Day, Oregon.
Rt. 19 along the John Day River
Mt. Hood as seen from Hale Ridge on the Wasco-Heppner Highway
Fox Valley - Rt. 25 near Long Creek
Custom sawing AND coffins! Rt. 26 near Mt. Vernon
I might...
I haven't counted how many pimples on my 07 Norge. Quite a few. Since the bike was new to me in May, I just assumed that the factory paint quality was poor. Anyway, I ride with a tank bag so not much of the tank shows anyway.
I scored a pair of almost new Ducati Multistrada 1000 mirrors for cheap. I decided to try these mirrors on my Norge. Turned into a more complicated project than I thought.
These mirrors are much wider than the OEM’s. I’m a big guy so having mirrors that are almost 3” wider than OEM is a...
That sounds easy enough. Maybe I'll dig in there and have a look. Might want to replace that motor pre-emptively with a more robust one. I see there are quite a few used ones on eBay made for German and Japanese bikes.
Oooh, yes, I like that. With only 4000 miles, my lower bits are still in one piece (well, three pieces actually) but that looks like the way to go when they self-destruct. On the other hand, I'm thinking about buying a Coocase and getting it painted to match so would make sense to get that...
Azccj-I'm thinking about this exact same mod for my red Norge. Could you post up a coupla pics? I think everybody would like to see how this looks. If you're not a pic poster, feel free to e-mail them to me. Thanks!
While I was waiting for my new-to-me Norge to arrive last month, I called MI in Seattle and asked them if there is anything I should know about the bike as a MG noob. One of the things Mischa told me was that the windshield should not be adjusted when there is wind pressure against the screen...
That's a beautiful install job. Just the controls showing with everything else tucked away.
Not sure if I saw there how much it cost or where you bought it from. Also, a source for those Air Force switches.
Here's the Zumo mounting kit I got from GadgetGuy--
This is very nice stuff. All hard anodized and expertly crafted. I just got this Norge a week ago and this was my first farkle. Happy it came out well.
First step is to remove the windshield then install the swivel joints into the upper...
Brian, the nut on the bottom of the vertical threaded pin holds the metal mounting point in place, and this mounting point adjusts forward and backward. If you loosen the nut, then slide the metal mounting point forward, your pannier will then click into place in a more forward position and...
Thanks, guys! :D
Pannier now off. At once I discovered that the nut on the threaded pins holds the adjustable metal connector in place. Connector fell off as soon as I removed the pannier. Just as well--looks like it needs to be adjusted anyway.
Found screw "4", removed it, and plastic...
