    Gear shift indicator

Is is really a "poor system"? It does tell you what gear you are in, if you "just need know"... and it does this without any switches contacts or wires. and that sounds like a cleaver solution to me. It provides those that want to know with an answer, and it keeps the machine SIMPLER for...

    To turn it OFF

Tod.. that's good news. I did not see such text in the manual. I can live with the annoyance, with less bother than moving the sensor (but I do think that would work). Thanks...

    To turn it OFF

well, I think that is does, in-fact. The first time I became aware of just how the Guzzi functions, was with a front tire change, without preforming the "calibration" process defined in the manual (yes I have one)... It appears that if the front wheel speed sensor is not returning a fast enough...

    To turn it OFF

The line between crazy and genius is a blurry one... It is not possible to turn the track control off on an 2018 V7iii, just a setting between 1 and 2. And i have had and an issue with this twice, while trying to cross a busy 2 lane road, half way through and the engine shuts off ! so i don't...

    To turn it OFF

So I've been thinking about moving the front wheel rotation sensor to the rear wheel. This should result in keeping the ECU happy, and act as if i have turned off the traction control. I know that I will loose the ABS function, but i can live with that better that that dang traction control...

"Get a Guzzi" they said..."It'll be fun" they said...

glad to hear that your issue is solved... I am not a fan of the sparkplug wire being hidden under a metal cover, and it seem to be a euro trend these days. i don't think you would of had an issue if that wire was out in the breeze, (unless it rained). Ride it

    V100 Details & Poll

I think that when the bike has been out for a bit, and i haven't heard of any "flat tappet" issues (or others). i will be well tempted to pick one up, if there is a simple version available... I love my 7 but im beginning to want more lazy highway out of it. at my current age, im starting to...

    V100 Details & Poll

I like most of what I see... However, I am concerned with the overall complexity and what it will mean in terms of service. I don't mind water cooling (an unfortunate necessity), But personally, I have no need of an active suspension, and or automated wind flappy bits. KISS !

    'Jerky' engine braking

Oldman... Is your throttle cable operated, or electric... (you don't give the bike year)

Replacing the Throttle control by aftermarket one

Nice looking units, I tend to prefer the 3357-03-02 model, as the right angle bend is part of the housing, but i don't know your intended finished "look". I still think that you will need some form of universal cable kit and more than likely get the skills to remove M.G. cable ends and...

Replacing the Throttle control by aftermarket one

As far as the looks, I agree that the factory units are OK. I don't know much about the V7-2 however, but my V7-3 does get a little "cheap" looking when it comes to the switches. But still not too shabby... I will say that the throttle by wire setup on my bike takes some time to get used to...

Replacing the Throttle control by aftermarket one

original poster gives no indication of model or year. so i assumed a carb. (bad on me because his avatar looks to be a V72) however the throttle tube i pictured IS a two cable unit. (one at each end of the lower surface). and there are many more to choose from especially from the dirt-bike...

Replacing the Throttle control by aftermarket one

Probably won't get much thinner than this throttle assembly ($9.00) amazon. If your bike is dual carb, then you will need a cable splitter ($44.00) e-bay. the splitter kit comes with multiple end attachments, but I you may have to salvage the OEM cable end fittings. But at least you are lucky...

Checking oil level: the finer points of dipping

    · Shut off the engine. · Keep the vehicle upright with both wheels on the ground. · Unscrew and remove the filler plug / oil dipstick, and wipe it clean. · Fit the oil filler plug / oil dipstick and tighten fully. · Unscrew and remove the filler plug / oil dipstick and check that the oil level...

Just finished making a back rest / rack with quick detachable hard cases. All in @ $40.. worked hard at making it look clean when cases are not installed. and keeping things tight to the bike.

    New V7/85 65hp for 2021

Looks to me like V9 owners should be looking for the first set of V85tt heads that they can find. (if they want more power) i betting that most of the power gains are coming from the bigger valves. I suspect that the cam may be a little different, but I cant confirm.

    New V7/85 65hp for 2021

I can't seem to find a part number breakdown manual on the V85TT like i have for the V7 and the V9. thus i can't determine what is different between the V9 and the V85TT. with both of these engines are sharing bore and stroke, and the same general architecture, its hard for me to get my head...
