    V85TT whine from rear wheel

I had removed the calliper and cleaned the pins a few weeks ago. I'll take the bike out for a warm up again, as the whine or hum (sounds like rubbing perhaps) only occurs after a runout, heat related, and remove the calliper and spin the wheel again. I'll be back if it still whines. Thanks...

    V85TT whine from rear wheel

After an all day return ride to Aldeburgh, I was pushing the V85TT into garage and I noticed a whine from the rear wheel, as if something was rubbing against the tyre. With the bike on the centre stand and spinning the rear wheel the whine was noticeable. Difficult to say where the sound was...

    V85TT reliability

Had my 2020 version since last July. Done over 5K miles now, the ride has been solid and the bike is easy to inspect and clean. No recalls on mine. During the run in, the only thing I had to do was tighten the odd nut or two. The build quality I found to be excellent, especially when comparing...

MIA map and .gpx/.kml file adaptability

MIA can only be used to navigate you from A to B, it can't be used to travel along a predefined route. ('A' is your current position). It does allow you do download maps so a data connection is not always needed. I have used the navigator on MIA, but is wasn't as versatile as other satnav's...

Moto Guzzi V100 Le Mans Concept by Oberdan Bezzi

Styling wise, the V100 Le Mans wins over the BMW, and for me every bike should be shaft drive. But I wouldn't buy one, the ride is more important than the bike. Just my preference!

How To Recover The 5 Digit Security Code

The personal code is not for the key, it's for the electronic dashboard. Once set the personal code can be reset by using both keys using the procedure as described in manual. Keys can only be registered to belong to the bike by using the personal code. The initial manufactures code is 00000...

How To Recover The 5 Digit Security Code

When you switch on the ignition, if the dash immediately shows the phrase 'enter personal key', then the previous owner didn't enter one. If the message doesn't show, then a personal key was entered at some stage. If it is unknown then you can reset it using the two different transponder...

    Motorcycle GPS units

I use the scenic app for the iphone, map updates are consistent, app works on the ipad too (easier to create the route on a larger screen) so routes can be created and automatically saves to your iphone. If you are not following a route then the app records your trip and can be viewed and saved...

does the fuel gauge resister the correct levels in the tank? When I'm down to 1 bar on the TFT, and fill up, I can only get about 19 Litres in. How does your fuel gauge behave?

    V85TT issues and Loose Bits

those of you with the V85TT Travel, the panniers metal latch which swings round to lock the pannier when you turn the key can fall off and hopefully stays in the pannier when you open it. Without the latch the pannier isn't locked, so if you don't realise that it has fallen off and you close...

    V85TT MIA platform

well, I've seem that message once, when the low fuel indicator on the TFT glowed on. That also showed in the app statistics too, which also highlights when the fuel is at 50% and when I refuel (message is "you have refuelled your vehicle"), which I assume means the fuel is at 100%. Try...

    Which is the better street bike 2021 V7 850 or V85TT ?

Yep, I was going to keep the bonnie as a second bike, but If I walked into garage and had to choose, the V85TT would win every time. So to avoid having to clean two bikes and maintain the chain on the bonnie (A job I use to hate doing) I said goodbye to the bonnie. No regrets to date :)

    Which is the better street bike 2021 V7 850 or V85TT ?

Having upgraded from a Triumph Bonnville T100, the V85TT is more fun and gives a solid ride. The Screen and panniers on the V85 travel version are excellent and the whole bike is comfortable even with a pillion. If the T100 can be compared to the V7, in terms of style and power, the V85 is the...

V85tt wont start, security is issue

Lets take this one step at a time. When you switch on with the key, does the message 'INSERT CODE" show at the bottom on the TFT? or does the message "INSERT YOUR PERSONAL CODE" show at the bottom on the TFT?

V85tt wont start, security is issue

according to the manual THE FACTORY SET CODE IS COMPOSED OF FIVE ZEROES. the message "INSERT CODE" is shown on the display for ten seconds every time you switch on. If the code is changed from the factory setting the message is removed. try using five zeros. two pre-coded keys should come...

    V85TT MIA platform

I think you are right, but I don't listen to music, or make phone calls, so definitely no reason to connect the helmet comms to MIA. Why accept a call that would spoil the ride ! Safer to just ride the ride, and stop if you need to call.
