    ECU Re-Flash for V7 Classic

Is there a Re-Flash you can get for the ECU in the V7 Classic? Or is throttle response less of an issue for that bike? I'm asking because I had a Stelvio and thought the reflash was necessary to make that bike to run right at lower rpm. Now I'm getting a V7 and am curious to know whether...

    Sold my Stelvio

Well, I sold the Stelvio and the buyer is picking it up today. Don't get me wrong, it's not because of any problem with the bike. The only real issue I ever had was with the fueling, and Todd's "re-flash" cured that. I just decided the "adventure touring" thing is not for me; I've always...

    Handling issues

Handling is a Stelvio strongpoint. Surprsingly flickable in the corners; dead steady on the highway. Braking is another strong point. I don't know how you could find fault with either....

    Which Wire for Brake Light?

I think I figured it out. If you ever try installing a third brake light, like cars have (I got mine from Aerostitch), black is ground, yellow is tail, and white is the brake light!

    Which Wire for Brake Light?

I'm installing a "third brake light," and I'm not sure which wire I should connect it to. There are three wires leadingto the brake / tail light: one is black, one is white and one is yellow. Does anyone know which wire is for the brake light and which wire is ground?

    Turn Signal Lenses

I did the same thing: contacted MHP and found out they are out of them. I'm on the waiting list. Until then I used a socket for a slightly larger bulb and just duct taped it on there. I was thinking another option might be to get an LED cluster and put that in there....

Getting to Aux fusebox - stranded.

I'm not a mechanic, but if it were me, I'd first make sure it's nothing obvious. So put the bike in neutral, lift up the kickstand, make sure the kill switch isn't on, etc. The manual posted on this forum has a helpful section on troubleshooting electrical problems, so I'd take a look at that...

Tipover Valve Mod Goes Horribly Wrong

I finally fixed it. Drilling out the bolt worked pretty well, but it does get very hot. I used some compressed air to keep things clean and cool. Then I put JB Weld in there and put everythng back together. And that seemed to work well. Whew!

trade GSA for Stelvio?? What updates needed.

I just went out and checked mine, and they are o.k. 10NM is not very tight; it's just snugging the bolts. And it's hard to judge. I guess you don't completely close the clamp. After torquing to that value, there is still a 1/8" or so gap. Anyway, I also checked my speedo sensor a while ago...

trade GSA for Stelvio?? What updates needed.

Would it make sense to loosen the pinch bolts, and then torque them to spec?

trade GSA for Stelvio?? What updates needed.

Great! That's what I have: an 09. I got the tipover valve out before the paint bubbling got noticeable. I guess I have the forks snapping to look forward to next. We should just call the 2008's and 2009's what the are: PROTOTYPES (ver. 1 and ver. 2). Is there a fix for the fork snapping...

trade GSA for Stelvio?? What updates needed.

Todd, did you really mean to say "most of [the Stelvios] . . . have (or will) snap the forks at the pinch bolts at the axle"? Are you saying I have my forks snapping to look forward to? Has anyone had the forks snap while driving?

    How to Tighten Wheel Spokes

Is the correct procedure for tightening the wheel spokes to turn the nipples counter-clockwise until snug? It looks like turning counterclockwise will pull the rim and the hub together, so I'm inferring that is the right direction. Also, do you have to use a spoke wrench or can you just use a...

    Buzzing mirrors

You could also hellp stabilize the nmirrors by filling the handlebars with "Bar Snake" (I think that's what it's called; it's that stuff you fill the bars with to help with vibration).....
