    GuzziTech product accusations/response

Hi Todd I've only just noticed this thread and I'm sorry you felt it necessary to include it. I don't think that "accusations" is at all an accurate word to use. I wrote what was merely an observation with no malice or derogatory intent, and if you actually take my posts as a whole I think...

    High-Pitched Squeak

Had the main bearing spin in the crankcase housing and that sounded like that. Ended up with an oil leak that couldn't be cured and the engine had to be replaced.

    A Tire Thread

Can't say whether you should be offended or not; wasn't intended that way. It was just from the type, tone and number of your posts I had you down as someone much younger.

    A Tire Thread

Pokey, you must be all over the road like a drunk in a pub car park and shagging your tyres into the bargain. Your tyre dealer will be sending you cards at Christmas and on your birthday! Doesn't matter what tyres you have if the road surface is crap, you just have to learn to ride through it...

    A Tire Thread

Are you running front and rear at the same pressures? Never heard of anyone doing that. Must feel like a flat tyre! I use Bridgestone BT45's at 33 psi front and 36 psi rear, which I suspect would be just about standard pressures for most brands of tyre suited to the V7's. BTW I got rid of the...

How much better are the new V7C's?

Perhaps manufacturers have finally realised that your average bike rider has neither the opportunity or talent to use a bike producing 200 bhp. Could this be the first signs of motorcycles returning to the real world that most of us live in with speed limits and high insurance premiums?

How much better are the new V7C's?

I would suggest that buyers are attracted to the V7 variants and some of the Triumph range of motorcycles purely by the nostalgic appeal of their design. All V7's look small, have a low seat height and an apparently simple engine, all of which basically adds up to a user friendly motorcycle...

    Lost a bolt!

As you know Joe, all mechanical device will vibrate to a certain extent and that is why experienced maintenance engineers, mechanics, bikers, and even some car drivers include checking nut and bolt tightness as part of their regular servicing routine. You'll probably find that it's one of the...

    Lost a bolt!

I lost one too, but mine was the one that holds the side panel on. Had to fit another one. Pheeww, what a close shave! Bikes that vibrate a bit loosen nuts and bolts. What a surprise.

    GuzziTech product accusations/response

Re: GuzziTech accusations/response Totally agree, Todd provides a great service to MG owners. If I were to change one part of what I wrote it would be to "promote a competitor's products over it's own", which I think is fair and accurate, and no offence was intended.

    GuzziTech product accusations/response

(This topic was split from a post on the V7 Forum about a sensor-offset "fooler" to help with fueling corrections... Todd) We do need to remember that this site is associated with a commercial enterprise and with the best will in the world it would be unreasonable to expect any response that...

    V7 Classic fuel filter

Don't know for sure but I'm pretty certain someone here can tell you if they are. Got a good price on Mahle KL145 filters from opieoils.co.uk.

Thanks Joe, appreciate the offer and will pass it on.

    US bike dealers

Hi Joe Rhode Island at the moment but I do know that they're talking about moving to Connecticut soon. My personal experience of the winter around there probably means buying the bike will remain as a "consideration" until next spring now! Thanks to all for taking the time to reply. I'll pass...

    US bike dealers

My niece lives in the New England area of the US and is married to a very nice chap who is also a biker. He's been asking me about my V7 Classic as he thinks he might like one. This is just a general question because I really don't want to tell him to go ahead if he's going to have all the...

    Cold Blooded?

Suspect you all maybe over thinking this. You're not exactly trying to fire up a 747. I've never had any problem getting the bike to start, just pull in the clutch and press the button, pull the cold start lever back, put on gloves and helmet, push the lever back and ride off. Simple, but then I...

Rear Wheel Removal Tips – HELP

"But next time I'll try removing the pumkin' as Holt suggests!" Dang! Hey Ma, ain't that what I jes' said! Godamn 'puter mus' be runnin' faint. Forget using silicon for the rubber blocks and try goose fat instead. Feel free to pass that tip on.

Rear Wheel Removal Tips – HELP

I use silicon bath sealant to stick the rubbers in place. I alway end up removing the drive box to remove and refit the rear wheel as there doesn't seem to be enough clearance otherwise. Never heard of anyone patching a tubed tyre since it's the inner tube that contains the pressurised air and...

    Alarm?

We may love our V7's but I doubt that they're very high on most casual scumbag's wanted list. If your lose yours' it will probably have been nicked to order. Alarms can be more trouble than they're worth and anyway no one can hear you scream in the back of a fridge van. Get a decent lock and use it.

    Dealers and New Bikes

Contributors to this thread have given examples of some totally unacceptable service levels, but instead of putting up with bad service why not share your experiences and name the good and bad dealers? That way the good dealers get the customers and not so good at least get a chance to improve...
