    While my CARC gently weeps...

Hi all, It has been some time, I know. I have an early (2008) 8v Griso that I love riding, but has been nothing but problems. I have been struggling with CARC issues for a while now, on multiple units. I have two CARCs that I seem to keep swapping for service. I now have my original one back...

    Mystery switch on Griso 8V

Looks like the switch supplied by heat demon. I have those on my griso and for the 2 cold months we get here in Los Angeles, it's literally the best thing ever.

    Guzzi paint sub-par?

Guzzi's paint looks like crap even new. Yes, matte paints are a little harder to shoot. But a little painting experience will more than compensate for the added difficulty. The biggest issue with guzzi's paint IMO is lack of attention to detail, and using only the minimum required effort...

    Valve cover oil leak

my 1100 had this problem since day 1 on the left side only. Nothing I did/no type of gasket worked. I tried scoring the surface lightly with a file to give the gaskets some more grip I tried polishing the surfaces I eventually tried milling them back to stock (when I had my heads off years...

Full Matris on a Griso (first of several installments)

My mistake. I proofread my post maybe 10 times and still missed that. The original post has been edited to make it explicitly clear. -Andrew

Full Matris on a Griso (first of several installments)

When pushing down on the back of the bike, it does not comply nearly enough, although there is still plenty of stroke. This is a straight wound spring that does not fully extend under the bike's own weight, meaning that sag is mostly a ride-height adjustment only. You are basically changing the...

Full Matris on a Griso (first of several installments)

My sag was spot on with the stock suspension, but it felt a little too soft. Currently, it is still within the "correct" range as it is (albeit on the bottom end) and it is way too hard. Sag is just a tuning tool. At the end of the day, the only important measuring tool is my bum.

Full Matris on a Griso (first of several installments)

I have heard that before about racetech, but they claim having spoke to the techs, that they can supply a correct spring. Im not sure which is the case, but at least they answer their phones. I don't want a 750 lb spring, as that (as far as I can tell) is what is on there currently. A 650 would...

Full Matris on a Griso (first of several installments)

Howdy folks, This is the first installment of my coming full review of full matris suspension on a griso 1200 (not that it matters which one) The process is not complete yet but i feel that what I have so far is still helpful, so out it goes. Please check back on this for updates. Purpose of...

    Is 7 years too long?

Load testing is great, but only covers normal plate degradation. What you can't test for is sudden death syndrome. (and yes, even AGM batteries have the condition, just much less so) This happens when lead particulates which have floated/broken off as part of the normal aging process pile up...

    Disaster caused by dealer?

Just tell them to fix it under warranty. IF they say no, keep insisting until they call the cops. At which point, you can do what I did for my rear drive (which was assembled wrong from the factory but failed just outside the warranty period) which is call MG USA on a near-daily basis. Dont...

    G8V Breather Box (BB)

My breather boxes have leaked since the day they were new on both the guzzis I have owned. It makes no difference how much/little oil I put. (The manual calls for 3.6 liters with filter change, I put 3 even)

    Issue with my kickstand's footlever

I got really tired of dragging mine on the ground in left turns. Eventually, It started to strip the aluminum threads, and one day it just broke off in a canyon, and it's been that way ever since. the only downside is you have to get your toe underneath the kickstand to pull it out. Otherwise...

    New Michelin Pilot Road 3s

Not quite sure what you mean by wagon wheel POS, but I have been running pr2s for years. I commute mostly, and get 13k+ out of a rear tire, 15k+ out of the front. But on my days off, I scrape my kickstand and wear the sidewalls of my tires in the canyons with no grip issues at all.

Rolos solutions in Los Angeles is shady.

OK, just to back up, I hit a missing chunk of asphault in a right hand turn at about 65-70mph and damaged both my front and rear rims. After doing some research, i decided that repairing was the best option, and I took it to Rolos solutions in Los Angeles. I stripped the wheels of everything but...

hit a MASSIVE pothole at speed. damage, need advice

So yesterday i found my pothole. It's about 8 inches wide, the full thickness of the asphault deep (about 4 inches) and about 3 feet long, and looks EXACTLY like a skid mark at night, which is when I hit it. calling caltrans...

hit a MASSIVE pothole at speed. damage, need advice

so i hit what was (apparently, i never even saw it) pothole at about 65-70 tonight in the midst of a right hand bank on the freeway, which hit so violently it knocked my mirrors loose and actually knocked me off my seat. Both rims are severely bent at the sight of the impact, pulling the edge of...
