Suggestions on Bar End Mirrors for a V7?

I have round bar-ens on my V7 that I'm looking to replace with a pair of Rizoma. These are specially made to fit the M-G handlebars with the welded threaded insert. Maybe we can trade!

    Headlight Upgrade

Those integrated turn signals would be illegal in Ontario, at least. The spacing between them is less than the minimum required by the Highway Traffic Act.

Jackal Moto Gadget Install - No start

You will need a 12V LED test light; a voltmeter will not respond quick enough to be useful. Looking at the 2000 Jackal schematic, the Red/Black lead provides power to the fuel pump, ignition coils and injectors. Since spark and fuel are present, one can surmise that power is also getting to the...

    Voltage regulator

The efficiency of the rec/reg is due to the basic design of the regulator - whether it is series or shunt. The use of MOSFET components is not the deciding factor in the selection of a regulator for your Guzzi. Series regulators, such as the Comu-fire, will cutoff current from the alternator...

    Battery heating up

Check the voltage regulator output and make sure it is not overcharging (and cooking) the battery.

Bar-End caps removal and Mirrors Installation?

For my BMW customization, I selected a hard rubber grip and needed to adjust it once. It gripped the handlebar so tightly that I couldn't slide it off. I used a long thin screwdriver to lever up the grip enough to slide in a Starbuck's stir stick. Repeated that process about 8 times around...

    V7 C-S Suspension Thread

Does the oil manufacturer publish a viscosity rating in cSt at 40 degrees C? Or can you tell us the Brand and Product Model you chose to use for the oil? 20W seems very heavy, as was pointed out. That's like 60-70 cST and I'm thinking proper viscosity is around 20-25 cSt.

    turn signal buzzer for V7?

There's not going to be a plug and play option for you. Your easiest solution is to use a pair of diodes in a wired-OR circuit like the one I've attached. Where you locate the buzzer is really up to you. It should be protected from the elements but still located close to the rider so that it...

    V7 Racer Horn Puzzle

Mine were plug and play. However, it NEVER hurts to use a horn relay and I would highly recommend it. Fiamm produce a special SPST relay with two outputs labelled 87 (instead of the normal SPDT relays with pins labelled 87 and 87a). This special Fiamm relay will drive both horns; just connect...

    V7 BAAK Speedo install issue

What Todd is saying is that it can't conveniently be done; there is an inextricable link between the ECU and the dashboard. Replacing the OEM gauges will mean removing the OEM dash, which will also remove the functionality needed by the ECU to run the engine. Without this functionality, your...

    V7 Racer Horn Puzzle

I'd search around the frame area for the missing horn connectors. Maybe they have been stuffed somewhere and the factory forgot to plug them in. I have a 2011 V7R and there definitely is wiring on both sides of the bike for horns. In fact, I changed my OEM horns for Fiamm Highway Blasters and...

    V7 Special battery cover

I've read that the discharge rate on a lead acid type battery is slowed in colder ambient temperatures. This means leaving the battery in an enclosed but unheated space like the garage during the winter will result in less self-discharge than if that same battery is brought inside a warmed...

    V7 record fairing

I have a Stucchi on my V7 I and love it. It was easy to install. I wrote instructions which I posted online. Use Google to search for the phrase "Stucchi Luigi Fairing Installation Instructions".

GTM V7R-820 QuattroValvole Info & Dyno Runs

Todd, is there any concern that the drive train components cannot handle the 65% increase in HP and torque over the long term? Obviously this might be hard to predict.

My other ride is a 1986 BMW K75, which I have modified to suggest a retro-BMW look.

Has anyone removed the rear signal indicator spacers?

You're correct Andy. The indicator wires are attached to the bulb holder using 0.011" spade connectors. They are easily removed and reconnected. The wires pull easily through the holes in the spacer. Signal arm assembly is sandwiched together with a very long bolt and acorn nut. This bolt...

So very sorry, Todd, that you have to put up with this type of abuse. You're clear about the issue and very willing to negotiate to an equitable resolution.

V7 Registry & Picture thread -- ADD YOUR BIKE

Congrats. I've a 2011 V7R as well. If you plan on modifying/upgrading the bike, my suggestions would be, first, Todd's ECU reflash to improve the fueling response and, second, Andreani cartridges for the front forks to improve the suspension.

    Mirrors

If they are anything like headlight mounted Bumm mirrors for older BMW airheads, then you'll have a great view of your elbows.
