2007 Norge for sale - Baltimore area

Hello, all. I'm selling my red 2007 Norge 1200. Purchased in 2008, it has 16,500 miles and has many options - including: Hyperpro 3.0 rear shock Model 460 (adjustable rebound damping); Hyperpro front springs (progressive - rising rate) ; Dynojet Power Commander PC-V fuel injection adjustment...

    Chronic Starting Problem

Hi, all - I have not been on the site in a while - partly because I've experienced several years of unreliable starting on my 07 Norge 1200. The issue is not the battery. I've gone to great lengths to clean the leads - they do show sulfate buildup that has to be scrubbed off. Sometimes the...

    Norge Handling Question

My take is that this problem does not occur with the Dunlop Roadsmart properly inflated. The stiff sidewall makes a big difference. Also a factor could be the rear spring, if it is the "soft" original with the early Norge. I replaced the rear spring early in ownership, and then I put many...

GTM Airbox lid with Dyno runs

I've now installed the GTM airbox lid and HF filter and sorted out fueling with PC-V and Autotune. Really an awesome improvement - I love the sound and I feel a surge in acceleration. Great mod - thanks, Todd.

    Recommended 1st Ride?

Hi - I'm happy to report that my Norge now is housed in D.C. and (for the moment, at least) it starts, thanks to a new battery. (I've installed many of Todd's improvements, so when it starts, it runs very well). I travel a lot, but I'll be in DC for about 10 days starting the 10th. I figure...

    New Tires

I have the Scorpion Trail on my Multistrada 1200 and am very pleased with their overall performance. I'm not sure of longevity, as I have less than 1,500 miles on them (so far). I previously had an 06 Multistrada 1000S and on that I used, at various times, the OEM Scorpion Sync (didn't like...

Finally Moving to the Area - Help Needed!

Further to my last message, I also spent time cleaning the battery terminals. rereading the message string I realize I have more cleaning to do. Since the problem I encountered - solenoid clacking - is what others reported, this is where I'll focus once the bike arrives in DC I have visited...

Finally Moving to the Area - Help Needed!

Thanks to all for the interest and suggestions. I was able to get it started. The solution involved better insulation on some exposed wires (for power to Zumo) and a tighter connection on the negative battery terminal. The bike now is en route from LA to DC ... don't know when it will arrive...

Finally Moving to the Area - Help Needed!

It's taken me longer than I'd hoped, but the Guzzi (07 Norge) is being shipped on Monday to my new address in D.C. Problem: -- it won't start. Battery is charged. Lights come on. It makes a loud clacking noise but the engine does not turn over. I figure to go ahead and ship it. When it...

    Moving to the area (?)

My thanks for the encouragement and information. I now have a temporary apartment in Rockville. I'm in California this week, cleaning up some loose ends - though I did get a nice ride on the Norge yesterday. (Weather is a plus here; traffic - not.) I'll be back in the DC area mid-March...

    Moving to the area (?)

Thanks for the info re Steelhorse. just spent a couple of weeks in Rockville, MD and went to visit Battley Cycles in Gaithersburg. I was very impressed; though they don't carry Guzzi, I felt they could handle minor items. Glad to hear there is good riding and group opps. I am going to start...

    Moving to the area (?)

Thanks for the info, Kurt. I figure to arrive (without bike) around the 16th. I doubt I will move the bike before April 1. My research suggests there are enough dealers and other mechanics around that I'll have a fair shot of keeping the bike running. I'm looking forward to getting to know...

    Moving to the area (?)

Hello to all. I'm a Norge owner presently based in LA. (Todd has done some fabulous work on my bike.) It looks like I'm moving to the DC area early next year and if all goes well, I figure to bring the Norge across around April 1. I thought I would ask about dealers, rider groups, etc., in...

I'm pleased to see this now is official. I figure to be there -- on my Norge. (My "other bike," an 06 Multistrada, was purchased from PI.) Bob

    Upgrading fork with Hyperpros

Around a year ago, Todd (our forum administrator) installed the Hyperpro Rear on my 07 Norge. For the front, the change was to a stiffer spring (from Hypero, I believe), plus a cartridge emulator. The suspension transformed the bike. Before - too spongy, imprecise. Now - taut.

    GTM Fueling Info

Here is a report on my experience of several weeks running the Norge 1200 with the PC-V, as installed by Todd, and with suspension improvements, also done by Todd. I've now put in a fair number of miles, in different conditions and on varying roads, on the Norge "as revised." Cumulative...

    Dead Norge. Any ideas

I don't have this 100% resolved. I thank Todd for his efforts, as the Norge is running well (very well) since his efforts. However, I have not had a chance to run the diagnostics on the ABS circuit, so I still don' t know what the problem is there. I'll be heading out to Guzzi T.O. for them...

    Dead Norge. Any ideas

Went to ride off this a.m. Norge turned over once. Stopped. Figured the battery had lost its charge. Took it out and recharged it. Checked juice - ok. Reinstalled. Turned key. All lights come in. Good to go? No. Turned ignition Sound of one attempt to start. All stops. Goes dark...

    !st ride on a Norge

Thought I might post on this one. I've ridden the F800ST. And I have 8,200 miles on my 07 Norge. No comparison. The ST has an annoying buzz at high rpm. I thought it felt unsubstantial and, well, cheap. I can't see riding it either long distance or on a daily basis. The R1200 RT is a...
