    WTB Norge

I am 72 and I have had a number of different motorcycles over the years. My absolute favorite? A 2007, 2 valve, Norge that I bought used. I got the bug for a new, not previously owned, motorcycle and sold the Norge. I replaced it with a new 2015 Stelvio. I replaced it a couple of years later...

New California Owner needs some advice

This is to address your question about doing the install yourself. I did the install on my Eldorado (basically a California). If you are good at following instructions, you can do it yourself. It's not especially difficult but you will be removing a bunch of stuff to gain access to the top of...

    Todd's Surgery

Oh good! A posting that will let me whine about MY back. About five years ago I underwent a triple lumbar laminectomy and a cist removal to relieve pressure on the nerves that where going to my legs. It was sucessful and the pain I was having went away never to return. On June 23rd, a friend...

    Alternator belt highest mileage.

I am just about finished changing the alternator belt on my 2016 Eldorado. I watched the video of the German guy doing his but I decided it must be possible without tearing it down as far as he did. It IS possible. I did not remove the exhaust pipes, the gas tank, or the lower frame cradle. It...

    Well that's it

From one, Red Eldo owning retired cop, to another, congratulations! I did 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area and, while I really liked it, retirement is better. Much better in this day and age. Now the goal should be to run through several sets of tires on the Eldo. I will be working on my...

    Gear shift indicator

What confused him? The term "tickle the carbs", or just "carbs". It occurred to me with this post, the only vehicles I have left with "carbs" both have "ticklers". I have 4 cars (vehicles with 4 wheels) and one motorcycle that are all fuel injected. My two Norton's are now the only vehicles I...

    2020 V7 stone or 2020 Eldorado? Questions

It's hard to beat an Eldorado and I will be echoing a lot of previous posts. It is a big, heavy, motorcycle and I hate pushing mine around the garage. But I didn't buy it to push around the garage. Once it is out of the garage, and moving down the road, it's very easy to handle. It has the...

    Touring bags on Eldorado

Measuring this thing is tricky. It's 27.5 inches from the top of the headlight to the top of the windshield. The actual measurements of the windshield by itself is more like 26 inches. Measuring the widest part from the back it is about 22-23 inches. Hopefully those numbers are helpful.

    Touring bags on Eldorado

My windshield is OEM and it was the largest they made when I got it a couple of years ago. I don't have any experience with any aftermarket bags for the Eldo so I can't help you there. I'm not normally a big fan of Corbin saddles but I got to this one sort of round about. The original big...

    Touring bags on Eldorado

I always think of things to add after I close out the message. If you look at the first two pictures I posted, they have the original, shorter, windshield on the bike. The one with me on it is the tall one. Here are a couple of additional photos that might help you. The first two are the night...

    Touring bags on Eldorado

27.5 I am 6 feet even and the original windshield (not sure how tall it was anymore) was way too short. But when I got this one home I was pretty sure it was going to be too tall and that I would be looking through it. Even after it was on the bike and I sat on it it seemed like it was too...

    Touring bags on Eldorado

Moto International in Seattle set that bike up calling it a "Northwest Edition". Interestingly, they only sold a couple of them set up that way. I was going to get a black one until my daughter convinced me red was the way to go. Best advice I ever listened to. That motorcycle draws attention...

    Touring bags on Eldorado

One more thing, if you go with California bags, they like to leak. A really simple fix ("simple" is about all I can handle) is to get a can of Flex Seal (as seen on TV) and spray the seam inside where the two halves of the bags come together. Spray the entire seam from the top opening of the...

    Touring bags on Eldorado

They can be attachd but it requires making or finding some small spacers to put between the bags and the frame of the bike. you could probably stack a bunch of washers but it would be easier to remove/reattach the bags later if you made some spacers out of bar stock. My setup was done for me by...

    2020 Eldorado blemishes

It's really shameful that a dealership let that get out that way. It reiterates the me how lucky I was to be dealing with Moto International, and Dave Richardson, in Seattle when purchasing the two new MGs that I bought. My most recent one is a 2016 Eldorado which has been pretty much flawless...

    2020 Eldorado

Normally we keep that feeder full for the Gold Finches. But this year they must have been chowing down elsewhere because we didn't see many and it took the whole summer for them to empty it. The Gold Finches are gone now for the season and no other birds use that feeder so I haven't refilled it...
