I was removing the tank and broke the red connector that goes from the tank to the fuel line. I have removed the broken part from the fuel line but don't see an obvious way to remove the red part from the tank. I don't want to break another part doing this air cleaner!

Does this part just pull out or do I have to remove the plate at the bottom of the tank?

You have to take the plate/fuel pump out of tank & remove the elbow. If you search there are lots of threads on this.

Here's one from a search--------------

Don't feel bad. You are just next in a long line of people who have done this over and over again throughout the years.

Read this from Post #70. It explains.

The design is 2 ways. The elbow is stationary and the connector moves, or the connector is stationary and the elbow moves. They are the same in function and how to detach them. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.
