This excerpt from the wiring diagram shows the LH Dip Switch:

This is the actual picture of the switch:

Do I understand correctly that the diagram shows the three positions of the lever ("joystick") as
- neutral (MODE - no electrical connections),
- TRIP1 / TRIP2 as left/right slide
and
- SCROLL (the most misleading name to me) as a push inwards?

Moreover: I used some colouring for the wires and ended up with:

So, this brown wire going to the LH Dip Switch - is that a "virtual" ground (that may, if appropriate, actually become GND, if the cluster grounds pin 18)?
By the way: do we have the pinout for the cluster available?
