G'day everyone I have just sold my 09 Multistrada for an 09 Stelvio with only 1,300km from new

Only ridden it twice and love the character but I've noticed in the upper rev range (6,000-6,500 rpm) the motor seems to flat line, hold the revs then accelerates again 10 seconds later. It's not missing it just seems to sit there with the induction noise increasing but nothing happening acceleration wise

The only modification done is a Staintune exhaust but I'm still running it with a db killer in to reduce overrun

Has anyone else experienced this stalling of acceleration? I had it serviced when I got it registered so new plugs and fluids all round

Appreciate your experience and insights
Stu

Is the airbox completely stock? Check to see if there are any restrictions in the air box and be sure of the condition and placement of the element. If you find that to be OK, it likely may be a fuel mapping issue if you've removed the stock muffler. I have many options in the online Store.

The air box and filter is stock but I will check for restrictions... The exhaust manufacturer confirmed ok with stock Ecu but never found that to be the case with Ducatis.....

I will have a look at the store - any specific area or item I should look at?

Thanks for the prompt reply

Have you tried it without the DB killer installed. If it runs fine with it out then it may not be getting along with the current map installed on the bike (what ever map that map be). Do you have any history on the bike like if the map had been updated (or changed by other means) or it the roller where done. If they changed from flat tappet to rollers and did not do a map upgrade from the dealer you will get the same response from the bike. I doubt this to be the case but may be worth finding out. My bet is on the exhaust flow.

Hi the bike was an insurnace "repairable" write off (panel damage only) so I've been fixing it and looks brand new now. The bike was damaged at the dealer on a test ride low speed fall over hence the low km. I would say the mapping is what came from the factory

The stalled acceleration seems more pronounced with the db killer in than out. Longest to date (before back surgery so will be a month or so before I can retest) was with db killer in as I thought it would mimic the restrictive OEM pipe better. Runs perfectly on any throttle position until 6,000 then the airbox induction become pronounced (loud) and the speed stays constant for 5-10 seconds then accelerates again to 6,500 and does the same......

Having no other history I'm no sure of the tune status but your words of wisdom are greatly appreciated
Cheers Stu
