Just bought beautiful V7 Classic w/ 8K mi. Have always admired these, and in 5 weeks am growing quite fond of it.
Immediately installed brand new Michelins, and really find the handling characteristics excellent.
Feels like a cross between my good old 71 BMW and 75 Ducati 750GT "some years back".
Does have a cold-start problem exactly as described by Canuck1969 post July 22 2017.
Am looking for Tech in Orange County CA to clean Stepper Motor. -Any references appreciated.
[I know lubricants can gum up, as have much experience w/ Shimano STI bicycle Shifters :)]

No stepper motor on a '12 V7 if it has two throttle bodies. Likely just MASSIVE lack of service like most others.

Thanks for Chat, and thanks very much for info of no stepper motor. [Odd Canuck said his was a 2012, maybe was mixed up on year?).
Bike was maintained by owner w/ skills.
Question may be: how long did it sit (and at what period, perhaps lengthy?) during the 12 years?
And so, what service is typically needed to such a 12 yr old bike which currently runs superbly?
And most importantly, what service is recommended to specifically correct cold start?
Mark at Guzzi Long Beach initially said a MAP could be done, but later that it cannot for 2012. He also checked fuel inj. calibration. Was spot-on, as is valve adj.
Cold start:
-When cold, takes 4-6 cranks to fire, and must be kept above 2000 (with idle fluctuation) for about 3 minutes until warm. Will die if rpm not kept up -by throttle and cold-start lever.
-Thereafter will start immediately -until about 2 hours cool-down, after which the process must be repeated.
-Idle when warm is smooth and exactly at 1100.
Not sure if (Todd) performs service -if so am interested.
Reticent to make appt w/ OC Service, as seems they are not Guzzi-specific, and no discussion of problem prior without commitment.
