Hi all,

I'm a new owner of a 2021 V85TT, that's just having it's first service completed today.
I'm sure as some of you may have heard MG are recalling the model due to possible faulty valves.
The strange thing about the recall is that MG don't seem to have the parts readily available to install.
My dealer recommended I keep riding it for another 1000 mile or so and then he'll have a look at the valves and cylinder head. He also claimed that MG don't know exactly with models are impacted, so they are forced to recall them all :).
Have any of you had similar experiences with this years model?
Apart from the "minor" issue I'm very pleased with the bike.

thanks in advance
Mark

Mine runs fine and I have not received a recall notice. I suggest that you not do the initial service early—in other words run it the full 900 miles to get most of the break-in done before servicing.

My understanding is that they DID, in fact know which bikes were affected, and only those owners were notified. There has not been a widespread recall as far as I (or my dealer) know.

Here's on update on this situation, the swiss importer is still waiting on a reply from MG / Piaggio Italy, as to when the dealers in Switzerland will recieve the parts. In the meantime, my bike has been at the dealers for the last 2 weeks, waiting on new valves.
I understand that this can happen, but not to keep the customer informed as to when a fix can be expected is an absolute joke and poor customer service. It's given me a bad impression of the manufacturer thus far.

On one hand, welcome to the world of Moto Guzzi.
On the other hand, the pandemic has disrupted shipping and supply chains for industries all over the world. I wouldn't necessarily judge Guzzi based on these exceptional times. I've seen similar complaints relating to other manufacturers as well. Everyone's having problems these days.
