Hi,
I purchased a 1969 V700 a few weeks ago and have since dismantled everything aft of the crankcase to replace the rear crankshaft seal, which was leaking like a faucet into the bell housing and out the drain hole. In retrospect, I should have also replaced the transmission shaft input seal as well, since now that the crank is sealed I can tell that the transmission side is leaking as well (although not nearly as much). Does anyone know if it's possible to replace this seal (the one around the input shaft to the transmission... http://www.mgcycle.com/product_info.php ... ts_id=1351) without have to tear the transmission apart? I don't mind pulling the transmission again as I'm quite good at it now, but I don't really want to take it completely apart since it's working quite well. I'm just not sure if there is a way to pull the shaft out and/or slip the seal in without disassembling.
Thanks in advance.
J.
