I've placed an order for a 2017 V7III Racer. I've been doing a lot of research by reading a lot of threads here, thank you all for posting your experiences and discoveries. I have a couple of questions I haven't seen treated here or on the Store's product information pages.

- luggage

I don't keep panniers on my bike all the time, but I need them when I'm traveling. Will the H-B STREET SOFT BAG OVAL SET – 21-23 LITER BAGS fit with the V7III Racer stock mufflers? I presume the HB C-BOW for V7III fits when you remove the rear cowling on the seat...?

- lighting

A 55/60W H4 headlamp bulb is so 1970s! I'd like to fit an upgraded LED headlamp unit, and preferably one which can take advantage of the OEM headlight mounting. I see Motodemic.com has the excellent Adaptive LED headlight unit for V7II, but the V7III has a different headlamp mounting. I have to say, on the Scrambler installing it was the difference between night and day on the road after the sun went down... Has anyone else used one of these headlamps with a V7III Racer yet?

Thanks in advance for any information you share!

You can put an H4 LED bulb into your stock headlamp in a couple of minutes. There are some really good LED bulbs finding their way onto the market now. Todd sells what I would expect to be some of the better ones.
Cheap, quick, easy!

Luggage: No, the C-Bow mounts will not fit the Racer because the high mount rear muffler bracket locations are different, outside of the seat cowl issue. I made (for my rental V7R) and offered brackets for sale here for the '11-16 Racer, and want to guess how many I sold? Zero. Guess not many V7 Racer owners want bags. If you buy them from me, I will modify and recoat the rear brackets for a bit more $. Contact me direct email; Todd at GuzziTech.com

Lighting: The JW Speaker LEDs are good. Far from plug and play, but they can be made to fit. I will be offering sub-$300 drop in LED version soon for all V7s (I-III). I'll post on them when done, buy I do have another post on them already.

wow, motodemic !! $$$$$!!!! must be a hell of a conversion
:banghead:

Yeah, the Motodemic Adaptive LED conversion was a very expensive upgrade—but IMO, absolutely worth the money!

The worst part of it was the amount of craziness it took to get the OEM Scrambler headlight off the bike ... I won't go into it, but I never want to deal with that insanity again. The Motodemic conversion kit itself was superb: beautifully machined CNC brackets and fittings, installing it along with the Dart fly screen took all of twenty minutes.

The difference in light output for the road is absolutely amazing. The way it adapts as the bike leans and it then fills in the dark hole is magical. It's the best headlight setup I've ever experienced on any motorcycle.

Thanks DP and Todd!

I guess I'm the odd man in this. I know many people would never consider a sport bike like the Moto Guzzi LeMans a traveling rig, but my LeMans V was the greatest touring bike I have ever owned ... I used to fit a pair of soft panniers on it along with a back of the seat bag and travel anywhere in great comfort. Went back and forth across the USA with it a dozen times... The V7 III Racer feels like it will do the same once the luggage mounting is sorted out. I like the HB mounts and bags. I'll be in touch about it once I have the bike home.

I've put the Cyclops H4 upgrade in the Store on my wish list and will keep an eye open for the headlamp upgrade you refer to. I consider good lighting a must have; my night vision is much more compromised than it was when I was younger. Thank you!

Hey Godfrey, I'm very interested in the Motodemic LED upgrade for my V7 III but questioning if the conversion kit is really necessary, could you help with why the light wouldn't mount in stock brackets?

The III is an eccentric headlight, not having a center axis mounting point like the V7 - II, nor is the spacing the same to the headlight mount.

What Todd said... :)
Lol, thanks! This Anniversario is my first bike and I'm loving it. Also curious why the stock light removal was so hard, love any tips you can throw my way. I'm almost definitely getting the JWS adaptive light kit. Which blinkers did you go with?

Removing and replacing the headlight on the Guzzi V7 motorcycles is easy, should take about a half hour.

It was the Ducati Scrambler that was a total pain: the way they routed the wiring harness and tie-wrapped everything together meant basically dismantling most of the front half of the motorcycle to get the headlight off the bike, including removing the tank with the most miserable fuel system connections I've ever seen on a motorcycle.

So: nothing to worry about for you. :)
