[This is posted this elsewhere, so, obviously, apologies if you are or will get sick of seeing it. Still, I thought it might be interesting to CARC'ers, if not others. It's about an 8v 2014 Norge, but is, I think, applicable to other CARC's (and more).]

    Here's the short version. Wait.

Issuing “short versions” is not my specialty, as, even tho a retired word merchant, I still prefer TLDR to PowerPoint bullets. [IMG]

That said, I’ll try — tho I'll make up for it in the pix. [IMG]

    A local friend's very-low-mileage (as in 3500!) 8v 2014 Norge leaked — make that gushed — oil.

The whole story is pretty much here:

If you care, hover cursor over pix for captions.

I spent today down there cleaning the mess this project in the Moto Grappa, but there are far worse ways to spend a day ... assuming beer is available! [IMG]

You know Bill, I think that exact location is a design weakness because I have a thread about that happening on my Stelvio and how it blew oil all over the left side of the motorcycle.

    https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/sudden-appearance-of-oil-leak-from-top-of-engine.20447/

I think that super tight radius “U” bend in that breather hose, gets very hot, shakes a lot, and just is too radical a bend tor any hose subjected to those constant conditions. It doesn’t help that it’s an unreinforced hose either.

Great photos of camaraderie in motion.

BTW, John Zibell made the best joke about this…

Who knew rocket scientists had such a sense of humor? :giggle:

On the merits, I should have remembered or searched for that thread. Yes, re "design weakness."

I am not about to pop the tank and air box for another look, but my no-doubt-flawed recollection is that the setup in there is different than the Stelvio's that John Warner mentioned with a rerouting fix. Will check the parts diagram later today.

Must go. My jockette spousal unit :inlove: wants to walk ... code for reprising the Bataan Death March. She'll be carrying the bayonet. :shake:

    Pray for me. ;)
