Just got it firing!
I got to take a vacation to the Appalachian Mountains this month spending three days riding around western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, northern Georgia, and northwestern South Carolina. We trekked nearly 1000 miles over the three days and had perfect weather during our trip. The new header on my V100 definitely cut down on the heat radiating up on my right leg, and the riding was subline throughout. We got to ride US 129 from Murphy down Blood Mountain to the split on US 19, then up through Suches on GA 60 winding around to Tellico Plains. We rode the Cherohala Skyway (twice), Deals Gap (twice), NC 28 from the Gap to Cashiers, Warwoman Road, Wayah Road (twice .... once each way), Wolfpen Gap Road, Richard Russell Highway, and lots of the other gorgeous roads in the area.
This was followed up by a visit to the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, AL for the Barber Vintage Festival. The highlight of that trip was watching King Kenny Roberts do a couple of parade laps on the 500cc two-stroke he used to win the 500cc GP Championship in 1980! This is definitely a bucket list destination for any motorcycle nut, and I encourage all of you to make it a point to get there when you get a chance.
